Candace Owens fights ‘dumb’ lynching narrative with real details, urges blacks to stop ‘taking the bait’ on Arbery shooting

As has become the norm in post-Obama America, explosive incidents involving race are often complicated, with more emotion being reported than facts.

In the battle of media narratives, one thing most people can agree with in the case of Ahmaud Arbery is that the Georgia man did not deserve to die for his actions.

And that includes Candace Owen, founder of the #Blexit movement that encourages black Americans to leave the Democratic Party. Owens set off a firestorm online when she endeavored to get in front of a building narrative that Arbery was “just a jogger.”

Owens tweeted: “Ahmaud Arbery was caught on camera breaking into an unfinished property that was owned by Larry English. His mother has confirmed it is him in the video. Please stop with the ‘just a jogger’ bulls*** narrative. Avid joggers don’t wear khaki shorts & stop to break into homes.”

Video appears to confirm that Arbery, a black man, did enter an unfinished property under construction before his encounter with a white father and son.

2.) Having seen runners in all manner of circumstances, "joggers don’t wear khaki shorts" is a silly statement.

3.) However one characterizes what Arbery did in that home, it is irrelevant to Arbery being killed for one simple fact. The McMichaels knew nothing of it.

The murder of Arbery does not justify the politicization and race-baiting that is happening, but neither do the politicization and race-baiting justify tossing about irrelevant facts as if they mitigate what was an attempted false imprisonment that became a murder.

The news coverage follows a pattern that has become painfully obvious, to the point we have no idea of what really happened.  For example, do you know the circumstances of the video that was released over a month after the fact?  Professional race-baiter Shaun King was behind the Tweet that caused the video to go viral.

The fact is, with the press coverage this has gotten, we actually know less than what we knew before the explosion in coverage.

That's odd.  When I read the article, I understood it as "We don't know the facts at this point, but it's possible we're being lead down the Primrose path again."

The video from a home across the street that shows Arbery enter and leave the home under construction shows that Arbery was running down the street when he stopped to enter the home (via the open garage door), and then continuing to run after he left it. It also shows that he entered and left empty-handed. Contrary to your statement, Arbery was running for exercise.

Runners do not have a uniform. Candace Owens absurdly took issue with Arbery's khaki shorts, but yesterday evening a guy was running in my neighborhood wearing khaki pants (full-length, probably because it was chilly). You take issue with Arbery's shoes, but I've seen runners doing half marathons, marathons, and ultra-marathons in everything from flip-flops to light hiking shoes (mine are Merrell).
