More than 15,000-acre wildfire burning in Big Cypress National Preserve

OCHOPEE, Fla. - The Moon Fish Wildfire was discovered in Big Cypress National Preserve, just south of Loop Road on Thursday.

The wildfire is approximately 15,423 acres with smoke impacting US 41, the Miccosukee Community area, and the greater Miami area, according to Big Cypress National Preserve.

Florida Highway Patrol closed US 41 due to smoky conditions Friday night, but they have since reopened the road. Drivers should use caution in the area of the wildfire. ..........
