NEW YORK — Lady Gaga and advocacy organization Global Citizen have raised $35 million to fight the coronavirus and will launch a TV special featuring Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Billie Eilish to combat the growing virus.

Gaga said on Monday that the money was raised in seven days and will benefit The World Health Organization. The pop star and Global Citizen also announced “One World: Together At Home,”

Saturday’s two-hour primetime concert, “One World Together At Home,” achieved the impossible: it made us feel even worse about our already miserable circumstances.

The insufferable show — simulcast on CBS, NBC, ABC and the internet — pieced together saintly speeches from A-list celebrities and somber United Nations officials between womp-womp acoustic ballads.  ...

Ellen DeGeneres’ floor-to-ceiling windows revealed lush California greenery. And Elton John, oddly, wanted us to witness his basketball hoop, complete with two basketballs on the driveway, as he barked “I’m Still Standing.”

The luxurious Trulia listings would have been forgiven were it not for the dull sanctimony paired with them. ...

I surfed upon this in time to see the Elton John number. Yes, his piano was in a driveway and he was pounding away on the keys like a jackhammer. Curiously, instead of saying, "I'm Still Standing," he kept singing, "Ah Till Tannin," like he had a speech impediment. Fortunately, not every cable channel was broadcasting this self-indulgent egofest.

Global Citizen’s star-studded “One World: Together at Home” concert came under fire as some criticized the televised event for raising money for the World Health Organization’s coronavirus response.

The two-hour primetime show curated by Lady Gaga raised more than $150 million for the organization’s Solidarity Response Fund, organizers said.   ...

Just out of curiosity,how many of you watched the whole show?

I almost went to wi-fi when I saw who was hosting it.

Then I decided I could tough it out long enough to hear Ga Ga and a few others.

I was wrong. Ga Ga was good,as always,but then Stevie Wonder came on and tortured "Lean on Me" to death,and it was more than I could handle. I went wi-fi before he finished.

I was planning on switching the instant that Eilish creature came on anyhow,but just couldn't make it that far.

BTW,does anyone have ANY idea how Eilish became a pop star? Is it because she represents all the fat,ugly,color blind people out there who can't even catch a tune,much less hold one?

I watched about a minute of Elton John's "Ah Till Tannin," then accidentally surfed upon it on another channel in time to see 1.5 seconds of Stevie Wonder. Then I found a 2014 LPGA tournament on the Golf Channel, and it was much more interesting.

The entertainers who performed for Global Citizen sacrificed nothing. It’s great promotion for them and they’re supporting an organization that helped the Chinese cover up the seriousness of the WUHAN Virus. Usefull idiots. Sorry.

Golf is the most boring crap I can think of,and even golf was preferable to Stevie Wonder. He should be beaten for what he did to "Lean on Me". I tolerated it for about 30 seconds,and it just kept getting worse as it went along,so I went to wi-fi and didn't see any of the other performers.

When I saw the ads and WHO the donations were going to, I wasn't even going to watch, and I didn't.

I love music, but refuse to support the biggest spy ring in the world. 

It took a few searches before I found any reference to it in search engines of the event, (not sure why that was).

Then I watched Live PD reruns...
