The federal government has issued constantly evolving criteria for Americans to return to work safely during the coronavirus crisis, while various governors this week began adding their own layers of rules for reopening states for business — a process increasingly leading to partisan disputes in state capitals.

The guidance has ranged from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention saying on March 7 that “contact tracing” — finding every sick person and figuring out who they’ve interacted with — was recommended but “not practical or achievable in all situations,” to Tuesday, when California Gov. Gavin Newsom said contact tracing will be a key benchmark for reopening his state’s businesses and schools.

In the Northeast, seven governors led by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo are crafting their own rules for determining how and when it’s safe to reopen. All but one of them are Democrats, and some of them are talking about keeping stay-at-home restrictions in place well into June.

Let them.  Let their states fall behind as smarter ones get labor back into the pipeline.  New Yawk needs another black eye for being dumbasses (apologies to the good New Yorkers of TBR).
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

Exactly.  If Albany wants to keep the entire State of NY shut down through June because of what is happening under Deblasio's nose, then that is their prerogative.  And their people will suffer their decision to put power in Democrat hands.  Just don't expect another dime from the US taxpayer.

Meanwhile, Texas is hiring.  Louisiana is hiring.  Mississippi is hiring.  Alabama is hiring.  Georgia is hiring.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

I hear it said the virus will determine when the nation opens.

That is wrong. We, The People will.

Pity the fool who thinks otherwise, these runt despot governors included.

Connecticut's not a large state, but new infections jumped 'way up again today, over 1,000 new ones.

I realize other regions/states -- places like the Dakotas, West Virginia, and so on -- aren't anywhere as severely impacted. So... let them "re-open" if they wish.

But try to do that here, and it's probably gonna result in an "infection explosion".

Sounds like you are already having one.  Connecticut trails only New York and New Jersey in deaths per million.  Mostly in Fairfield county.

...and as a result, are likely to be lagging on the turn-on.

Expect a multitude of such stories as the administration proceeds with the reopening. It’s all part of the script, reality be damned.

Sleepy Evers has already come out an' extended the state stay at home order by a month. He's also about to declare martial law so that he can do away with any opposition from the legislature. He wants to get rid of the laws that were passed in that lame duck session that limits his powers.
