Duh... what did you think was going to happen?

Los Angeles sheriff releases 25% of inmates over coronavirus — now he's worried there might be a crime wave

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva is worried that there might be a crime wave coming after he released what amounts to 25% of inmates over coronavirus concerns.

Villanueva expressed his concerns in an interview with FOX-11 on Monday.

"We were faced with a choice, if we left the jail system fully populated and overpopulated then the pandemic is a lot easier to sweep through the jail system and jeopardize everyone's safety," Villanueva explained.

He said that he released 4,276 nonviolent inmates.

"We have approximately 1,200 murder suspects currently in jail, that's greater than the entire population of some jail systems," Villanueva added.

While crime statistics are down all over the state, Villanueva is afraid that releasing thousands of criminals might lead to greater crime.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

He said that he released 4,276 nonviolent inmates.

I will wager that jail systems all over the country would make the same choice, if presented this dilemna.

These inmates have families, who would be onlly too glad to sue the jurisdiction, should their family member contract covid19 while locked up for the nonviolent crime.

Taxpayers might eventually pay for that costly lawsuit.

You really think all 4,276 are "non-violent"?  All that means that they weren't convicted of a violent crime.

And as far as "lawsuits:", do you think any of the victims who may be robbed, raped, killed by these releasees would get the same recourse under Tort Law?

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Given the way prosecutors plea bargain so much, there should be scare quotes around "nonviolent".
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

He's worried?

Not in the sense you or I would be.  We'd be concerned about our community, but he's only concerned about his phony-balony job. 888mouth
