It doesn't mean anything really but rumor is, she has the inside track. #1 on the short-list but we've heard this before.   I think the Dems probably want to pick someone who would surprise everyone. That's the way it usually works, imho, for both parties.    So, the headline itself is slightly misleading I think.  I didn't care to pick Daily Mail again.

Amy Klobuchar: Joe Biden's VP Pick (Announcement Coming This Week?)
Take a look at our breakdown of who could be on Biden's final VP list.
by Hunter DeRensis

At the final Democratic primary debate, former Vice President Joe Biden stated explicitly what commentators had long expected. “I commit that I will in fact pick a woman to be vice president. There are a number of women who are qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be vice president,” he said.

Prior to this, the National Interest published a comprehensive list of Biden’s best options for a running mate, catered to his previous public statements. Now that he has officially become the presumptive presidential nominee and could be expected to announce his vice-presidential pick imminently, the list has been cut down to who currently stands the best shot at the number two slot.

The frontrunner remains Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, who suspended her presidential campaign at the beginning of March and endorsed Joe Biden, which benefited his margin of victory on Super Tuesday. The proud moderate and congressional workhorse who campaigned on both midwestern disposition and midwestern puns, Klobuchar would be a strong choice towards retaking the Rust Belt from President Donald Trump in November.

Salad Fiend Amy Klobuchar Once Berated an Aide for Forgetting a Fork
The latest in a series of reports on the Minnesota senator’s treatment of her staff includes a ludicrous anecdote, now apparently confirmed, in which she ate a salad with a comb. But the questions swirling around Klobuchar’s candidacy for president aren’t a joke.

...   Klobuchar has mostly brushed off reports that she’s hurled a binder at a staffer and yelled at employees until they cried, acknowledging that she “can be tough,” but that she is passionate about her work and demands excellence.    ...

On Friday, The New York Times submitted its own contribution to the rapidly growing genre with a deeply sourced report that escalates Klobuchar’s reputation from merely vicious—she had the highest level of staff turnover at her Senate office between 2001 and 2016, according to publicly available information—to occasionally cruel. Her family-leave policy, for instance, reportedly required staffers to pay back the salary earned during their leave, and that they work three times as many weeks as they’d taken off. (A spokesperson said her office “never made staff pay back any of their leave,” and that the language around the policy would be amended.) She reportedly lashed out over things small (the words “straight-shooting” and “absolutely”) and large (a staffer’s perceived inadequacies “ruining” her marriage). And she knows how to deliver the sort of devastating bon mot that would make Armando Iannucci weep. On one occasion, she told a team member, “I would trade three of you for a bottle of water.”

The Times’s opening anecdote, in particular, reads like a Veep parody:
Quote
An aide, joining her on a trip to South Carolina in 2008, had procured a salad for his boss while hauling their bags through an airport terminal. But once onboard, he delivered the grim news: He had fumbled the plastic eating utensils before reaching the gate, and the crew did not have any forks on such a short flight.

What happened next was typical: Ms. Klobuchar berated her aide instantly for the slip-up. What happened after that was not: She pulled a comb from her bag and began eating the salad with it, according to four people familiar with the episode.  ...
Vanity Fair

I have a feeling DJT would mention this incident a time or two if Gropin' Joe were to pick her for his running mate.

Senator Klobuchar’s Staff Mistreatment Reportedly Goes Back a Decade, Includes Throwing Binders
By Matt Stieb
Feb. 8, 2019
Quote
Two more reports of Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar’s alleged maltreatment of her staff emerged just two days prior to her likely presidential campaign announcement on Sunday. According to BuzzFeed News, four former staffers claim that Klobuchar’s behavior “regularly left employees in tears.” The senator allegedly tossed papers and “one aide was accidentally hit with a flying binder,” according to a person who was in the room and who noted that the senator did not intend the throw to make contact.  ...

According to emails seen by BuzzFeed News, Klobuchar consistently rebuked her staff in all caps, often over minor mistakes and at odd hours, frequently sending messages between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. The senator would reportedly become angry if a staffer did not charge her iPad or if they used staples instead of paper clips. Her reputation as a demanding boss was so well known that, in 2015, retired Nevada Senator Harry Reid reportedly told her to reconsider her management tactics.  ...
NY Mag

Apparently, the media talking point last year was to tear Amy down, since she was not considered a factor, and just an impediment to the real candidates. You can bet they'll all climb on the Amy train and extol her to the heavens if she on the ticket in November.

With this pick, Biden should be able to nail down Minnesota for the Dems in November.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Once biden makes it official, he will have a medical issue and have to step down and the VP pick will take the top spot opening up a new VP pick.

Then he would be foolish to announce it before the convention.  Pre-Convention and the Rats can just pick anybody they choose at the Convention.  Post Convention they'll just have to make the rules up as they go along.  What's the difference?
