Names proposed for a new coronavirus task force to focus on reopening the economy include Ivanka Trump, as well as advisers such as Kevin Hassett and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

Three insiders familiar with the plans say it will include leaders from the private sector and the sports and entertainment worlds, as well as administration officials.

President Trump has made clear his desire to lift social distancing restrictions as rapidly as possible in an effort to begin the business of rebuilding amid concerns that the small businesses and the voters that make up his base could be hardest hit.

Ivanka Trump would bring her expertise to the area of job training, said a former administration official, either on the task force or as an adviser.

I'm sure Trump will get push back from the career govt types, but they live in a bubble. It's going to be a tough climb out of this mess and the sooner we get started the better.

Exceed expectations on what exactly?  Implementing on-the-job training?  Quite simple -- give companies tax credits for hiring and training people like Reagan did.  IMHO the last thing we need is Ivanka and her poindexter putting their liberal spin on things.  The country needs to move forward yes, but not towards socialism.

Great post @Absalom .  All the things you mention are distasteful and counterproductive to most voters.  The problem is there is a wing of the Trump party that loves his antics.  They think the media is the enemy of the people.  They think Rep. Greg Gianforte is cool and they say "Any guy who can do a body slam, he is my type!" I dunno where they get the idea, but when the media gets savagely owned it somehow elevates the demagog into a virtuous man in their eyes.

President Trump still takes credit too often before anything is actually accomplished but I'd say he has gotten better at including others.  One thing you have to keep in mind is he can't really prop the rats up as his adversary when they are on break till the 20th.  So all he has, to fill up the spaces between thoughts, is the media and what a great job he is doing...and he is doing a great job even though it is repeated ad nauseam.  The President is doing stuff and communicating the right message "stay home" often enough that even his own base should be getting the message.  This shows he cares about them too.
