New York City is lying about Chinese virus death rates

The mass hysteria over COVID-19 in the U.S. is driven in large measure by misleading statistics and bad math about the disease’s body count.

Now that New York has become the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States, we are now regularly inundated on cable TV news with the latest pandemic statistics from the city.  The statistics grow gloomier by the hour.

These figures have frightened people into submission as state and local governments across America enact repressive measures they say are necessary to contain the virus or slow its proliferation.

After doing everything in their power to oust President Donald Trump, journalists and others are now calling him a weakling for supposedly not doing enough, while they demand an unprecedented nationwide crackdown.

The problem starts with the fact that the highly influential statistics from the Big Apple paint a false picture of what is actually happening.

In New York City, the death of anyone who dies who tests positive for COVID-19 is counted as a coronavirus death.  This is the case even if the coronavirus failed to play a significant role in the person’s passing or illness.

Irresponsible reporting.

It is all designed to scare New Yorkers into more authoritarian rule over them and to demand more federal dollars to combat a disease that is not as bad as it seems.

And the longer this goes, the more testing they do, thus inflating the statistics and making it look like the problem is still escalating. Testing turnovers are speeding up, too—tests that used to take a week are now done in a day, thus bunching up the stats.

It is ludicrous to think that after three weeks and knocking a huge hunk of the economy out of their jobs by decree, there is still not a substantial decrease in new cases—but you look at the daily new positive cases, and every three days, the number of new cases jumps. The city and state don't measure by symptom onset, though the CDC does for nationwide cases. Therefore, we can't see if they're still throwing in cases from infections two or three weeks ago.

And that's just the way tyrants like Fauci want it, to worsen the crisis and extend the grip of tyranny in the name of public health.

It's not just "New York City".

Here in Connecticut (particularly the southwest end), new infections had been dropping for a few days, but today they exploded upwards:

This is a long way from being close to over, yet.

In North Dakota, new cases hit a peak, dropped for a day, peaked the next day, and repeated that pattern 6 days after the first peak. The thrid cycle came in on the six day lag from the first peak of the second cycle, but the second peak of the third cycle failed to materialize, instead decreasing in number from the 'lull day', instead of going up again to form the second peak in the set. It is far too early to attribute any significance to that, but it is a break from the pattern.

Currently (4/3/20) 5978 tested, 173 positive, 29 hospitalized, three deaths, 55 recovered. 25 of 53 counties affected.

This may be the case with death stats from Italy. Consider these two situations:

* Perfectly healthy 30-something contracts the virus and dies. Obviously a coronavirus death.

* 80-something with significantly damaged heart, COPD, and immune system under hospice care contracts the virus and dies. Obviously a coronavirus death? Or would a flu, cold, or a spring allergy have killed him/her equally easily?

The real world is messy. Unless there is actual evidence of bureaucrats' plans to lie, the "lying" in the title of the OP article is probably wrong. The messiness of reality is a sufficient explanation for the data issues.

* Perfectly healthy 30-something contracts the virus and dies. Obviously a coronavirus death.

* 80-something with significantly damaged heart, COPD, and immune system under hospice care contracts the virus and dies. Obviously a coronavirus death? Or would a flu, cold, or a spring allergy have killed him/her equally easily?

The real world is messy. Unless there is actual evidence of bureaucrats' plans to lie, the "lying" in the title of the OP article is probably wrong.

I think the title is right. ESPECIALLY for Dim politicians that preside over slums.

Ever hear the political expression "Never let a good tragedy go to waste!" That term was coined because it is an absolute FACT that NOTHING opens the federal  coffers to state and local pols like a really big tragedy. The bigger the better.

The pols get all that "free money" to spread around locally to show they "care",and that they have power with the feral goobermint,which practically guarantees them re-election.

"Tragedy" is the most important "tool" in the "Dim toolbox".

I can easily see when the cleanup/decontamination grants come out, that NYC will get a fortune to clean up, and the unions and pols will magically make it disappear.
