Lindsey Graham says 6-8 weeks for unemployed to get relief checks is 'unacceptable'

While the coronavirus stimulus relief package is going into effect, Sen. Lindsey Graham said on Tuesday that the unemployment insurance system in the United States is “broken.”

“I’m going to spend a lot of time trying to fix it,” the Republican South Carolina lawmaker told “Fox & Friends.”

Graham went on to say, “Six to eight weeks to get a check is what I’m hearing [and] that’s unacceptable.”

“In unemployment under this bill, you’re actually increasing people’s wages, which will deter growing the economy. We’ve got to fix both of those things.”

He's absolutely correct.  It's taking people almost a week to be able to access the system to file in addition to the 6-8 weeks.  So, how are people supposed to eat and feed their families? Also -- where in the heck is FEMA?? They should be setting up several emergency "tents" with vouchers to get food.  People are hungry.  No food. No toilet paper.  This is a horrible situation.

Very sad.  I feel for those who have no $$ to buy food. Certain schools around here are offering Grab and go lunch bags Mon-Fri -- but that's one meal a day (better than nothing I admit), nothing on the weekends ... and what about the parents?

How are they going to get the money to put gas in their cars to get there?
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Especially when they have closed down everyone's workplace.

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Yeah we've got to get them to the people now so they are distracted by their free money when we pass an even BIGGER pork laden "stimulus bill next week.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
Son of a gun, you this reminds me of how there was so much concern in getting me and others our unemployment checks when The Barry & Joe show was in charge and millions of Americans were out of work.
