Democratic LA mayor: Power, water will be shut off for nonessential businesses that refuse to close amid coronavirus 'safer at home' order
'This is your chance to step up and shut it down — because if you don't, we will shut you down'

Eric Garcetti, the Democratic mayor of Los Angeles, announced Tuesday that power and water will be shut off for nonessential businesses that refuse to close amid California's coronavirus "safer at home" order, KTLA-TV reported.

"If we see continued noncompliance, they'll wind up facing misdemeanor charge, and [the Department of Water and Power] will step in and shut off their water and power," Garcetti remarked. "You know who you are, you need to stop it. This is your chance to step up and shut it down — because if you don't, we will shut you down."

Calling such businesses that don't voluntarily shut their doors "irresponsible and selfish," Garcetti unveiled the city's "business ambassadors program," which is designed to convince nonessential businesses to close, the station said.

I know that companies in Washington are still open.  Not all of them could be necessary.  All you have to do is drive around and the parking lots are still full.   I don't blame them.

Generators are cheap compared to weeks of business lost... So is a 500 gallon tote with a submersible pump... Which is exactly what I would do.

What is wrong with you? If this isn't true please correct it with your own information.  Washington State has followed suit and I am sure that not every workplace is abiding by this law.  It is relevant to our new lifestyle here in Washington as I wonder if we will follow to the same extremes.

I am trying to understand how this story relates to Trump Hate.  Just can't figure it out.

I review hundreds of Topics each week, so if I choose to discount Politico articles to pennies on the dollar, that is my business.  There is a shiv for Trump in every single story they write, so go ahead and post from there, you will be criticized for it.  You should have, by now, developed a thick skin for that.

My advice?  Pick better sources and leave Politico articles right where you found them.
