Trump blasts conservative lawmaker over opposition to relief package: 'Third rate grandstander'

President Trump on Friday blasted Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) as a “grandstander” and called for him to be jettisoned from the Republican Party amid growing anticipation the lawmaker would object to the $2 trillion coronavirus relief package poised to be voted on by the House.

“Looks like a third rate Grandstander named @RepThomasMassie, a Congressman from, unfortunately, a truly GREAT State, Kentucky, wants to vote against the new Save Our Workers Bill in Congress,” Trump wrote in a pair of tweets Friday morning.

“He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous … & costly.”


Trump acknowledged that his administration had to make some “stupid” concessions in negotiations with Democrats to get a deal on legislation to help American workers and businesses impacted by the coronavirus.

Again, good reason not to like Trump.  He doesn't care what is in the bill.  All he cares about is the people being happy to receive their stimulus checks and his ratings.  There was an article today which the headline suggested that further relief bills have the potential to include green deal items.  This bill is already full of stuff that shouldn't be there.

He is as I said a liberal at heart.  The only one grandstanding is him.

Obviously everything Congress does or does not do is Trump's fault.  All we need to do is replace him, and then Congress will suddenly do the job they haven't done in a century.

I've yet to see a story that says specifically which items of Pelosi's attempt to load the Christmas Tree were removed?  It appears the JFK Center for the Performing Arts got their money,  Congress gets a raise ,and the attempt to institute nation-wide ballot harvesting is still a "go," so in what ways did the Senate not cave to the Rats?

The more I hear about it, the worse it gets.  As of now, I'm cheering anybody standing in the way of this turkey.

Massie was right to stand up and oppose the relief package.  There's enough pork in that catastrophe to fill every pig farm in Iowa. 

Besides all of the Liberal pet projects in there (like ballot harvesting) it just makes people that much more dependent on the Government for all their needs.

It's almost like we're seeing the last four pages of Animal Farm come to life before our very eyes.

They weren't removed...they just lopped enough off of them to make it palatable to the Republicans.

Oh I agree...it's insane.  I was just explaining to @Cyber Liberty that nothing really got removed...they just lowered the amount for each piece of pork to a level both sides could agree on.

Sadly that level wasn't zero.  This is an unnecessary bill for a made up pandemic and its accomplished two things.  It's allowed the Progressives to tank the economy and it's given Trump...McConnell...MCarthy and their pals to spend like Reagan's proverbial drunken sailors.

Neither side it appears will let a "crisis" go to waste.
