New York governor says quarantining everyone 'not the best public health strategy'

Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he believed the state's strategy to quarantine everyone likely was not the best idea.
"I don’t even know that that was the best public health policy. Young people then quarantined with older people was probably not the best public health strategy," the New York Democrat said at his daily press briefing. "The younger people could have been exposing the older people to an infection."
New York has over 37,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and nearly 400 deaths. The vast majority of the cases have occurred in New York City.
Cuomo said earlier in the week the United States should value public health over the economy. "If you ask the American people to choose between public health and the economy, then it's no contest. No American is going to say, 'Accelerate the economy at the cost of human life,'" he said Tuesday.
President Trump said this week he would like the U.S. to start coming out of isolation by Easter. "I think it’s possible. Why isn’t it?" the president said about the possibility. "We’ve never closed the country before. We’ve had some pretty bad flus, and we’ve had some pretty bad viruses.â€
