Does anyone out there personally know someone who has died of covid? I don't.

I work with three persons who tested positive, one of whom sits 10 ft away from my work station and a second who sits 20 ft away.  Neither of these developed any symptoms, but still got three weeks off (around 250 hrs) with pay.  The third works on another floor.  He got pretty sick but is OK and back to work now.

Don't know a single person back home in Georgia who has contracted it.

@bigheadfred

One of my aunts died from COVID. She was in her 80s.

IMO, you are doing a great job of keeping us informed.

I gotta ask this. Not out of morbid curiosity. Just curiosity.

Does anyone out there personally know someone who has died of covid? I don't.

Yep, one of my son's teachers from HS.  Younger than me no less, very nice guy, and terribly sad for his family.

An old HS friend allegedly died of it but who knows what he really died of. He was 74 years old and had several underlying conditions.  For sure he either died OF covid or WITH covid.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Nope. But my sister (the whacko-liberal one living in Chicago) lost a friend in her neighborhood.  :shrug:

@catfish1957

Is it know if he had any other diseases or medical problems that contributed to his death?

I am not a betting man,but I would almost bet there was.

Overall pretty healthy, and heard his only co-moribidity factor was diabetes.  Was at work doing normal duties 5 days before his hospitalization.  But OTOH, he was a really early victim, before Dr.'s knew much about the disease.

But then again, I obvioulsy don't know his entire health history too.

I think we both know by now that any death these days is attributed to "the virus" if the dead person maybe had a fever the week before,even if they were killed in a car accident.

It's about politics now,not medicine.

Co-worker's girlfriend tested positive.
Same co-worker came down with symptoms.
No word on his test result yet.
This co-worker works directly with my son, who hasn't shown any symptoms, milder ones at best, headache, fatigue, sore throat. No fever or cough, but is now at our home, waiting for his test results.
Their test have to come back negative, before we will allow them back to work.
I feel fine, but if my son comes back positive, it will be my turn to go through all of it, because he lives with us.

Thanks for the replies.

Idaho has 6,370 with most of those around Boise. 92 deaths.

There isn't much going on around here, east Idaho.

My two oldest grandkids' other grandmother, 52, has been diagnosed with ALS. They are giving her 3 years but think she has had it for two. She is losing mobility and speech. Going down fast now. So 3 months to a year.

My point being as this covid crisis grips the nation there are many people dying of noncovid every day. Like always.

So true.

We're at 3615 positives, 80 deaths (69 known COVID, 10 died with it (but not from it) and one pending and presumed.) 3210 recovered, 325 active cases, mostly in the Eastern part of the State. My county has 11 active cases, an all time high. towns which had protests are in the heaviest hit counties, but they also have higher populations, so there is no clear correlation.

An interesting stat from Georgia:

Chattahoochee and Echols counties lead the state in infection rates (4.0% and 4.6% respectively) which are off the charts compare to the national average.  yet neither county has experienced a single Covid death.

@Hoodat

Maybe they just ain't trying hard enough? Nobody killed in a auto accident,drive by shooting,drug OD,etc,etc,etc.

How about natural deaths? Nobody in their 70's,80's,or 90's dying they can tag as a virus death?
