Most people get diarrhea with that much C by mouth. Only a fraction of your dose is actually absorbed.

Only a fraction?  Are you telling me I need to up it to 50 grams a day?

I think the key is keeping the Vitamin C active like a metered titration.  Me...  going with 1000 mg , 3-4 times a day spread out during waking hours.

All I'm saying is most of the C you are taking doesn't make it into your blood stream. It promptly goes out the other end...

A 1.5 gram IV of C is similar to a about 8 or 9 grams of traditional oral C in terms of what makes it to your bloodstream. Two grams of Lypo-Spheric C is similar to the 1.5 gram IV. So if you want something similar to the 1.5 grams of IV C three times a day you'd have to take 25 grams of traditional oral C a day. The Lypo-Spheric equivalent would be about 5 grams a day with zero side affects.

Yeah, that's my objective.  I try popping one every 2-3 hrs.

Although those treatments are IV, it is still a good idea to keep your system saturated.  I have been taking 1000 mg every two hours just as a precaution.  Vitamin C is an effective anti-histamine in very large doses, and can counteract the inflammation of the lungs which occurs with SARS-CoV-2.

Yep.
2 EmergenCs in the morning, and then switch to 2x500 tablets every time I eat (incl snacks)... so about the same... The EmergenCs have B vits in them too, so don't take em in the afternoon, or you might have trouble sleeping.

Staying just this side of the squirts, so I am dosed up alright.

A slight diversion, but not-too-far-off-topic:

Years ago, I remember reading a short story by Ray Bradbury, "The Fruit At The Bottom Of The Bowl". It tells about a man who committed a murder and becomes obsessed at removing any trace of evidence by cleaning every object at the scene of the crime.

You can grab a pdf of it here:

Something to keep in mind as we try to "wipe away" the virus...!

Eat something fatty with the C. Your body will only absorb so much. Good fat helps with the absorption. A diet richer in things with Vitamin C are 'probably' more effective, with adding some pills, etc. than megadosing.

This is anecdotal info. I am not an MD.

Reported cases vs deaths in state of La (state) at around a 3.7% death rate... understand that not everyone has been tested, but that is a killer rate.

350,000,000 folks times 3.7 ain't pretty. Almost 13 million... hopefully a lot of folks just didn't get tested... but we don't know.

OTOH... my state has nearly 500 infected after testing and none have died... 0%...

At what level does a state medical staff get overwhelmed and the rates of deaths suffer?

Being my state has basically doubled the infections in two days, and the charts show steep incline, we will soon find out.

Idaho issues statewide ‘stay in place’ order over COVID-19

Don't know exactly what that means. I think the guv is going to do a speech later tonight or tomorrow.

Here they closed all the bars and Restaurants today because my County got patient #1.  Gatherings kept small.  Maybe some kind of curfew.  Martial law stuff.

I'd be fine with that.  My little town of 35K just had about 8K become instantly unemployed last Wednesday when the NV Governor closed all the casinos and restaurants (the hotels closed with them), and I'd prefer they get the cash rather than I.

I'm glad the casinos donated all their perishables from the restaurants to the local food banks.  That will be a big help for the employees.

When they closed the schools a week ago the neighbor gave us a box full of green jello cups meant for school lunches.

Anyone want some green jello?

Probably far sooner if all the red tape could be cut.

Louisiana now has a statewide stay-at-home order.  I am currently under quarantine at work for the next two weeks.

Death rates (i.e. deaths per 100 confirmed cases) by age group are as follows:

Under 30  →  0 %
30 - 39  →  0.78 %
40 - 49  →  1.93 %
50 - 59  →  3.87 %
60 - 69  →  2.43 %
70 +      →  10.53 %

Two thirds of all cases are in Orleans or Jefferson Parish.

Fox News at Night with Shannon Bream...tonight's show in my humble opinion serves no one in this country.

First, she had Robert Reich, an economist that worked for three administration, a man I never heard utter one thing I ever agreed with, despite having been a Democrat at one time, who said we are facing a six or seven month shut down of the country.  Well, oh ya, if that happens, we might as well rename the country Venezuela II.  This man's opinion serves no one, not even the bizarre, radical left Democommies.

Then on top of this fool, she has on Dr. Mark Makary, from John Hopkins no less, and he is STILL singing the tune we will follow Italy when there is plenty of EVIDENCE to suggest otherwise.  Fox News loses credibility having these schmucks on...just terrible.  This is the moron claiming we will have 2 million dead this year.  Ugggh.  The man is a jack*ss!!!

So now, the vote for the corona virus by the  House will not be held until Friday.  Great sense of urgency by these MFers!!!

JUST REMEMBER, EVERY GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE CONTINUES GETTING PAID WHILE THEY SIT AT HOME, WITH FULL BENEFITS.   Most people here are retired, but think of those working stiffs that are working class or lower middle class that are one paycheck away from disaster, and these people are jerking around.  As it is, the Dems are getting things in the bill that have nothing to do with the outbreak.  How despicable.  I cannot tell you how it offends me they have included tens of millions for the Kennedy Center in this legislation, and a dozen other pork items that are nothing short of disgusting.

Nothing would make me happier than for only two Dems to get elected in November.  Pelosi and AOC.  They are important for Republican votes.  The rest can go to haddies.

Azithromycin  has been used, with z-pack steroids, as a treatment for COPD flareups for quite awhile.
In fact, I had the combo after a flare up in January.
Theory that if it is bacterial, the azithromycin kills it.
If it is viral, the steroids won't kill it but will help you breathe easier.
I do not know anything, other than what I an reading, about that malaria drugs and why/why not would it work.
Seems odd, but it may work.

Vitamins A,B,C,D, and Zinc all help the immune system.

You can take as much C as your stomach and bowels can handle.
The body will just pass through what you don't use, so I've been told.
Vitamin D has limitations on how much you can take.
I do not know about A,B, and Zinc, the safety limits of those.

Ok...how many other people are too lazy to shave, since we are stuck at home during this quarantine?

We are to hit over 90 degrees today, hopefully this will help kill the nasty virus.
