California Gov. Newsom issues order for entire state to stay at home due to coronavirus
By Marty Johnson and J. Edward Moreno - 03/19/20 10:11 PM EDT

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) issued an order for all 40 million Californians to stay at home Thursday night due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The order issued by the governor is the first statewide restriction placed on all Californians to stem the spread of the disease.

“This is not a permanent state, this is a moment in time,” Newsom said in a news conference. “We will look back at these decisions as pivotal.”

The directive goes into effect Thursday evening. Those found violating the law could be fined up to $1,000.

What got Gavin Newsom spooked enough to tank California’s economy?

What got Gavin Newsom spooked enough to tank California’s economy?

Something fishy is going on here.

by JD Rucker  March 20, 2020

Healthy skepticism is often the only viable path to the truth. To put it another way, trust but verify. Unfortunately, there’s really no way to verify anything about the Chinese Coronavirus because the people who can verify anything are the people who are telling us what we need to do. These are strange times, folks. In California, it just got a lot stranger in a hurry.

Governor Gavin Newsom ordered pretty much everything to shut down effective Thursday night. Non-essential businesses are to close the doors until further notice. Citizens are supposed to stay at home until further notice. We are under a massive statewide quarantine, nicely named a “stay at home” order. With everything shut down, there is no way to avoid economic calamity. We’re stuck.

I’m not complaining about the order on a personal level as my family has been holed up for a couple of weeks now. But this seems like a very dangerous maneuver considering it will destroy the state’s economy. This is no longer a question of “if” it will. California is effectively done economically for the rest of the year, well into next year, and likely only achieving a near-full recovery by 2023 in the most ideal circumstances.

Clearly, Newsom knows something that makes him believe half the population will come down with the disease and overrun all state hospitals if he doesn’t act immediately. What is it?

Are photos from Italy of military trucks carrying bodies to be cremated, telling a true story?

Are Trump, Newsome, Fauci, health depts. from federal to counties, all fooled?

The Hill's article is written sloppily, making it sound like this order is for just one night. It's actually for an indefinite time period, https://www.ocregister.com/2020/03/19/california-governor-orders-statewide-stay-at-home-order/ , and allows for pretty much the same exceptions as Bay Area Counties Shelter-in-Place orders. This might make sense in the SF Bay Area or the Land of LA, but in Modoc County where the deer population is greater than the human population? Or Trinity County where trout outnumber people? *****rollingeyes*****
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I just saw the traffic maps for SoCal.  All the freeways are green.  I assume it's the same in the bay area....

It is a relative ghost town on the roads. Haven't seen anything like it since the morning after the '89 quake.

CDOT should take advantage of this and pave the roads....

LOL....great idea!  Wish our local street dept. would take this opportunity to fill the dang potholes.  It is kind of strange not seeing many cars on the roads.  Even walking on the track at the park, people move to the far side of the track when passing, as to not be so close.

I'll never forget after 9-11 walking at the park and not seeing a single plane.  Since we have a large Air Force Base here, that was sooooo strange.

May God keep us all safe....

If CalTrans did that it would divert gas tax and vehicle registration money from mass transit boondoggles! Horrors! :sarc:

Fat chance. Caltrans considers blocking a lane on the freeway and watching the faces of commuters driving slowly by high entertainment.

Newsome could take this crisis as a once in a lifetime opportunity to clean up the state's homeless problem. He won't do that, either.

@mystery-ak

What this jerkwad is doing is PURPOSELY tanking the Ca economy into bankruptcy ASAP so when it happens he can blame it on the virus,and not on his and the other Dims policies of buying votes with public money,taxing the HELL out of productive businesses,etc,etc,etc.

"It wasn't MY fault,peepulls,hit were the virus the virus and Trump policies what did hit!"

And the "sophisticated yokels" that vote Dim will buy it,hook,line,and sinker,vote to re-elect him,and scream for Trump to be removed from office for "putting 'murika out of work and starving de homeless."

@skeeter

Why the HELL would he do that? They are the most reliable voters in the Dim voter base. They can ALWAYS be counted on to vote for "more free stuff".

They are the most visible justification for the never-ending expansion of the welfare state.

Key Word:  "Visible."  Everything's about the optics with these socialist cretins.

Had to look that one up. LOL

I had to check the spelling. Her reign of error began when I was still in AZ and stretched to when I had moved back to CA and started career and family. I was raised in CA, and my parents were still here, so I got earfuls about her boondoggling.
