Former Tallahassee mayor and Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum was allegedly involved in a hotel drug “orgy” that resulted in an overdose. Law enforcement responded to the location following reports of an overdose where Gillum and two other men were intoxicated by methamphetamines and possibly other controlled substances.

The news, broken by conservative pundit Candace Owens, included a police report that shows Gillum was inebriated in the hotel room when police arrived. Three plastic bags contained what police believed to be crystal meth.

Andrew Gillum passed out naked and drunk while his "hotel mates" were overdosing on meth.

Gillum is a CNN contributor and Democrat nominee for governor of Florida.

I just hope, that if there is something illegal here, they press charges, they try him in a court of law.  He shouldn't skate on this.

Since he was able to speak, I don't think Gillum was the one who ODed. OTOH, even in a decade or two of life more than Gillum has lived, I've never "accidentally" (or intentionally) found myself in a room with people doing meth. Maybe I hang out with the wrong sort of people for that?

Authorities said Gillum, 40, and two other men were inside the hotel room at the time.

According to the report, one of the men, Aldo Mejias, 56, told officers that he gave Travis Dyson, 30, his credit card information to rent a hotel room for the night.

... Mejias arrived at the room later that night, at which time he found Dyson and Gillum inside the hotel room, appearing to be under the influence of an unknown substance.

... Dyson opened the hotel room door and then immediately walked to the bed and collapsed in a prone position.

He told officers Dyson was having difficulty breathing and began vomiting on the bed before collapsing a second time, the report stated.

Travis Dyson is the 30-year-old Florida man who was found in a hotel room with Democratic politician Andrew Gillum on March 13. Police said Dyson appeared to have suffered a drug overdose. He is conscious and in stable condition in a Miami-area hospital.

Dyson maintains a profile on a website for male escorts and is studying at a nurse practitioner school. Gillum has been married to R. Jai Gillum since 2009. The couple has three children together.

A man found with former Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum in a South Beach, Florida hotel room Friday morning is reportedly a gay male escort.

Travis Dyson, reported at first to be a friend of Gillum’s, was found and treated for a crystal meth overdose after police were called by a third person, Aldo Mejias, because Dyson was having trouble breathing. Gillum, also in the room, was discovered by police to be “under the influence of an unknown substance.” He had been vomiting and couldn’t speak to police “due to his inebriated state,” the report read.

Florida news outlet Local10 reported Saturday that Dyson has a profile on the website RentMen.com, where he identifies as a “pornstar performer” who offers “gay massage” and other services.

Gillum apologized via statement but maintained that he did not engage in illegal drug activity.

Democrat Andrew Gillum, the charismatic former Florida gubernatorial candidate, has admitted to being in a South Beach hotel room on Thursday night with Travis Dyson, a self-described 'porn star performer,' who was believed to be over-dosing on crystal meth when the two were found by a third man who called 911.

In a statement explaining his involvement in the incident, Gillum said he was in Miami "for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends." The CNN commentator also acknowledged he "had too much to drink" (seeming to confirm a police report that described him as "inebriated" and unable to speak) and apologized for the "distraction" his actions caused.

However, when contacted by a local reporter, Gillum's friend seemed unaware of any Thursday night wedding. "I personally was not celebrating a wedding. I don't know if [Gillum] was in town for a wedding. He did not mention that," Dyson reportedly told the Miami New Times.

A source with direct knowledge of the Miami Beach Police Department's response to the scene told TheBlaze that first responders said they allegedly found Gillum in a state of complete undress and Dyson wearing "chaps," which Dictionary.com defines as "a kinky or provocative article of clothing, which leave the butt and sometimes crotch exposed," when they arrived at the Mondrian South Beach Hotel room.
