California considers basic guaranteed income for all bill

Jazz ShawPosted at 12:31 pm on February 25, 2020

Here they go again. California lawmakers are preparing to consider a new bill that would provide a monthly cash payment to the vast majority of people over the age of 18, regardless of their wealth, employment status or anything else. This “universal basic income” concept is very popular among the socialists, but it’s been problematic in the few places where it’s been attempted on smaller scales. Now some people want to apply it to almost all of the nearly 40 million people in our nation’s most populous state. What could possibly go wrong? (CBS San Francisco)

How much of this is coming from the federal government?

Assuming you would pay taxes on this magic money, you would end up with something along the lines of $700 per month.

Average rent in CA is $1900 per month.... So what are we trying to accomplish with this pittance?
Just buying votes with taxpayer money...

LOL!

I'm sure California could use a few million more people from across the country - if not the world - looking for more free stuff...

Offer it and they will come...

Duh...

Trying to attract more street people who would love the free money and have little interest in the complications of an apartment. As the word gets out people will come from all over the country if not the world to take part in what California has to offer them...
