White House chief of staff claims press covering coronavirus to take Trump down

White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Friday downplayed the threat of the coronavirus but acknowledged likely school closures and disruptions to public transportation in the United States as a result of the outbreak.

He also accused the press of peddling a false narrative about the administration “scrambling” to contain the virus, saying he briefed Congress with other top health officials six weeks ago. He accused the media of ignoring the coronavirus until now because publications were too preoccupied with Trump’s impeachment before that, which he called a “hoax.”

“Why didn’t you hear about it?” Mulvaney told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday morning in a discussion with Stephen Moore, an economic expert at the Heritage Foundation. “The press was covering their hoax of the day because they thought it would bring down the president.”

Trump has similarly accused the media of stoking panic.

I had not heard of Congress having been briefed by the WH 6 weeks ago. But around the same time was when US airports started screening passengers arriving from China for people who had a fever, possibly Covid-19, an imperfect but quickly deployed measure. And it was 4 or 5 weeks ago that flights from the US to and from China were shut down, a shut-down currently scheduled to end March 30th, but, of course, could be extended if appropriate. There are two vaccines that have begun CDC testing - from vague highly filtered news reports to vaccines in test in just 2 months!

That's not "scrambling", that's swift action. And if one or more of the vaccines prove effective and are brought online quickly ... they'll be like bombs going off in the collective face of the Dems and their MSM-shills who decided to Katrina-ize Covid-19 instead of working with President Trump's Administration to avert the disaster the Dems and MSM currently hope for.

This is one of those open secrets it's best not to talk about too much.  It's a given the Rats are trying to weaponize a disease to take down a President, no surprise to even casual observers.  It's also not surprising this means the Rats are rooting for death of innocents.  That's been in the top drawer of their toolbox for years.
