Border Wall-Waived Laws

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Trump administration said Tuesday that it will waive federal contracting laws to speed construction of a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Department of Homeland Security said waiving procurement regulations will allow 177 miles (283 kilometers) of wall to be built more quickly in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

The 10 waived laws include requirements for having open competition, justifying selections and receiving all bonding from a contractor before any work can begin.

It is slow going ... only figures that I have been able to find is so far in the past 3 years only 98 miles of border fence has been erected .. and most of that is replacing dilapidated fencing.

So ... that's roughly 30 miles a year.  Pretty pitiful.

Well, I did find another article that Kushner stated that 128 miles had been built.   So another 30 miles has been built -- so roughly 40 miles of fencing a year ... still pretty pitiful.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
