Klobuchar: 'We need to build a big tent' for anti-abortion Democrats
By Jessie Hellmann - 02/11/20 03:44 PM EST

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) on Tuesday said that the Democratic Party should be a "big tent" for people of different beliefs, including those who oppose abortion rights.

Klobuchar, who is running as a centrist candidate and alternative to Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), said while she is "pro-choice" but she doesn't think the party should shut out Democrats who disagree.

"There are pro-life Democrats, and they are part of our party, and I think we need to build a big tent," she said.

Don't get me wrong, she has said disgusting things, like on Charlottesville a few years ago. I'd no way try to build her up in a positive way but at least, on a few issues, she's a lot more reasonable than her cohorts. If I were a Democratic politician, I'd find it hard to buck the party. Tulsi did in ever so miniscule of a way on this issue too but she still deviated from the DNC idiotic extreme norm.

But anyone who believes life is sacrosanct shouldn't be running with the baby killers of the Democrat Party anyway.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I don't care which Democrat we're talking about.  None of them are "centrists," "moderates" or whatever they might be called.  Even if they truly believe the BS they espouse -- if any of them are elected, they will have to adjust to the socialist/communist platform of the party.  The party is no longer even remotely what it was even ten years ago.

The goal is to APPEAR as a "moderate," without revealing that today's Dem "moderate" is yesterday's flaming liberal.

Amy has the ability to appear reasonable, and that will get some mileage with a certain segment of the Dem voter population.

Actually, just saying she won't string up pro-life voters makes her the most reasonable candidate they have to offer....

Nice sounding words, but, IMO, any Pro-Life person who takes them seriously is excessively optimistic (putting it kindly). The Dem Party has worked for 2 or 3 decades at least to drive Pro-Life people out of positions of authority and influence in the Dem Party. One second-tier Presidential primary candidate is not going to reverse that; the damage is done, and The Bern merely stated clearly and publicly what the Dem Party is.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I'm old enough to remember when Democrats were halfway decent.  They were patriots, they believed in good morals, they would have been appalled at abortion and all the perversions we have now.  I think the last one even close to that was  the late James Traficant, the Ohio congressman who ended up in prison for tax evasion, among other things.  Traficant was an odd duck and a felon, but he was in many ways far more conservative than any Democrat today.

Actually, Traficant , aka ferret head, was my Dad’s Congressman.

What a weird criminal he was, typical of Youngstown mafiosi, though.....

It’s pretty sad when you look at guys like that in a relatively positive manner because of the evil of today’s Dem party........... but it’s true.  Relatively speaking, he was better.
