â€˜Never Trump’ Republicans backing Joe Biden in NH primary, emails show

By Ebony Bowden and Bruce Golding

February 10, 2020 | 5:59pm

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Embittered “Never Trump” Republicans tied to former Ohio Gov. John Kasich have secretly schemed to assist Joe Biden’s campaign — because they think he’s the only Democrat who can beat the president and help them get “revenge,” The Post has learned.

Emails obtained by The Post show that two top staffers from Kasich’s failed, 2016 primary campaign and Ohio’s former GOP chairman, a Kasich ally, were among those involved in efforts to boost support for the former vice president in last week’s botched Iowa caucus and Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

Funding for the plan came largely from two deep-pocketed Democratic donors — former Microsoft president Jon Shirley and his wife, Kimberly — who’ve made maximum contributions to Biden and hosted a fund-raiser for him last year, records also show.

“They think Biden is the only candidate who can beat Trump at the general election,” said a GOP source familiar with the strategy.

Kasich allies .... losers voting for a loser!
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Mentioned this before, but I know some conservatives who said they would vote for Biden in November.  They were so confident Biden would be the nominee.  But so far, it looks like Biden's campaign is hitting the skids.  So I don't know what they'll do if a rabid socialist/communist like Sanders, Buttigieg or one of the others ends up as nominee.  Would they vote for one of those?

I could not vote for any Democrat - even a supposed centrist like Biden -- because the party has moved so far left, even if Biden were to win as a so-called moderate, as president, he would be compelled to take up the party's socialist/communist mantle.  The party's stated philosophy on all the issues is so counter to what the Founding Fathers envisioned, there is no way I could vote for any Democrat for any reason.

In my view, if any conservative votes for a socialist/communist for any reason, then he or she is no longer a conservative.

Who cares what these people do?  They have proven themselves to be bitter hypocrites and are blessedly small in stature, influence and number.

Let them fade into the obscurity they have rightfully earned.

The prominent beltway ones aren't even hiding it anymore...Bill Kristol claiming "we're all Democrats now" and Max Boot begging Dems to nominate Buttigieg, Klobuchar, or Michael Bloomberg the "moderates" in the race as he describes them.

Those are your true "Never Trumpers".  It certainly doesn't fit 99.9% of the people on this Forum.

Judging from ol' Joe's 5th-place finish, these n'ertrumpers were about as successful with him as they previously were obstructing Mr. Trump...!

But I did, in 1991 for the corrupt Democrat candidate for Governor of Louisiana Eddie Edwards.

Why?  Because his GOP opponent was David Duke.

Even Joe Walsh, once a solid conservative, is now vowing to support the Democratic nominee—even if it's Bernie Sanders—and calling on other conservatives and libertarians to do the same. He's now using the same arguments that Trump supporters here were using in 2016, that it doesn't matter what your principles are, you have to defeat the other person.

It's getting to a point of absurdity. How bleeped up do you have to be as a "conservative" to think an avowed Communist is not an existential threat to our republic but Donald Trump is?

I feel your pain because I voted for Edwards, too. No way in hell could I live with Duke winning that election.

I have to admit -- years ago when Duke was running for president, I liked what he had to say and actually considered voting for him.  This was I think in the 1980s and the internet wasn't the treasure trove of information it is now.  Fortunately, someone I knew was kind enough to find some info on Duke and share it with me.   Of course, I reconsidered my support.

But the experience taught me a valuable lesson:  Always do your research before you vote for a candidate who "sounds good."

That was a tough time as the guy we both voted for Governor "vote for the crook!" wound up in federal prison for his corruption.

Am not proud of my vote, but neither of us could afford what would have happened in the alternative situation.
