Despite switch to GOP, Jeff Van Drew hasn't gone full MAGA

President Trump and House Republicans cheered when Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey joined their ranks midway through his first term. But Van Drew's voting record since then hasn't been that of a down-the-line Republican.

As a Democrat first elected to an open seat in southern New Jersey in 2018, Van Drew was one of two in his party to oppose Trump's impeachment. That approach aggravated Democrats in his district, and after torrents of criticism at home, Van Drew became a rare party-switching member of Congress, making the change official on Jan. 7.

At the time, the dentist and former state senator pledged to remain bipartisan, representing a district narrowly favoring Republicans. As a Democrat in 2019, he voted in line with the party most of the time. Since becoming a House Republican, he has sided with the minority GOP at about a 66% clip.

Surprised?  That guy is a liberal if I've ever seen one.  He even dresses like it.  He wasn't going to win on his Democratic ticket so he switched.  Donald Trump supported him over the other GOP candidates.

He looks goofy, like a liberal clown.

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Did you really expect him to be a MAGA advocate ? Never happens and probably a political reason to have a R after his name than a D???? Time will tell.

What other GOP candidates?

His political reason to have an "R" after his name is .... RE-ELECTION.

I'm not sure if I believe all the puffery on this, but allegedly .... there were 170,000 requests for tickets for that appearance.

Only 8500 or so were able to be seated/allowed BUT ...

BUT ...

The thing about Tump's 'RALLY" strategy goes WAY beyond whatever his bonding and Trumpian performances are as our POTUS and "First Celebrity"

Every time Trump does a rally around the Nation it is ALWAYS somewhere where he has support or won in 2016 in his miraculous iNSIDE STRAIGHT ... obviously ... but GOTV data and information is critically accumulated.

Think of it!    Why doesn't Trump go to larger venues in bigger cities?   Forget about this candidate, think about the strategy.   If 170,000 New Jersey residents ACTUALLY signed up for tickets down in Wildwood and the venue only handled around 12,000 participants?

How else can you get 170,000 names (I get it, trolls and bots), email addresses and text numbers to put into your GOTV data base going forward?    How long would it take to proactively FIND these people absent the rally?

It's a genius strategy.  Only DJT can pull it off, though, with his aura.  He's targeting the right States he needs to win and he's accumulating ALL the contacts and data and support every political operation needs on a national scale.
