Primary/Caucus Type

Open – Voters may vote in either party primary regardless of voter party registration but can choose only one primary to vote in

Closed – Only voters registered in their respective party may vote in the party primary
Mixed – A semi-open or a semi-closed environment, unaffiliated voters can choose to vote in either primary or voters can switch registration the day of voting

Delegate Allocation

Democratic primary/caucus delegates are proportionally allocated to the candidates based on their percent share of the vote.

Republican primaries/caucuses delegates will soon be listed as Proportional (P), Winner-Take-All (WTA), or Winner-Take-Most (WTM).

Proportional – Delegates are awarded based on the percentage of the vote received by candidates, or some formulation of dividing up the delegates

Winner Take All – All delegates are given to the winner of the contest

Winner Take Most – Some delegates are reserved for the winner, some may be divided proportionally

Unbound – Delegates are not bound to a specific candidate and can support any candidate of their choosing, varies by the state party organization

It will be interesting to see the turnout for Trump in Virginia... We will see if the left has learned anything..

This winner-take-all crap should not exist.

Hoping that after Super Tuesday it will still be a very fractured picture.
The Republic is lost.

@sneakypete

An ultra abrasive obnoxious Yankee like Sanders won't go over well south of Mason Dixon line in the primaries.

Therefore might be more than hope, with a 3 way free for all going into the convention, and no consensus winner.  50 ballots and no winner?

Pete still thinks Hitlerly may come in at that time and save the day as a comprimise candidate.  Don't count that scenario out.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

@catfish1957

I honestly don't see how he appeals to anyone other than masochists . He stays mad all the time,and all he ever does is scream and shout about how everybody but him is wrong,and you will all die starving in the dark if you don't accept him as your Master.

Greed,ambition,massive wealth,tons of blackmail on prominent people from all parties,and the sincere conviction that she is such a special snowflake that she should be the Master of the World makes it hard to ignore that possibility.

If the rules and time restraints don't work for her,they will just have to be changed.

Bloomberg is the wild card for super Tue.  - it will show how much traction he's gotten and who he's cannibalizing votes from. The more muddled the better, but If it starts to shape up as a 2-person race I think Bloomberg vs. Sanders would do the most damage.

If Biden falls below Klobuchar in NH he'll be lucky to make it to ST. I thought it would be gaffes that finished him off but apparently he's just the same pitiful candidate as in his previous tries.

Biden was never in the race...not seriously.  Polls mean nothing.  2016 proved that.

The Dems are in real trouble.  Sanders has a strong following that is still with him from 2016.  No other Dem has that for 2020.  I doubt Bloomberg can get by Sanders.  If it is a brokered convention, look for HRC to save the day.  It is in my mind choreographed.  Warren will stay in to drain votes away from Sanders.  I believe she is a shill for HRC from the get go.

Biden will most likely win South Carolina by a narrow margin, and struggle beyond that.  Sanders may not do well in the south, but he will win elsewhere.  He has a real shot at being the Dems' nominee.  If he is, he will bring down the Dems big time.

I do not see any appeal in Bloomberg.  And can you see Bloomberg in a debate with Trump?  He is smaller than my wife, and Trump towering over him before a single word is uttered will not bode well for Bloomberg.  He is the square peg in the round hole, that is just how desperate the Dems are.  Love the chaos.  Well earned.
