Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a 2020 White House hopeful, on Sunday dismissed concerns that his status as a self-proclaimed democratic socialist would be a liability in a general election and said President Trump’s description of his ideology as “communist” was inaccurate.

“Obviously I am not a communist,” Sanders told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” in response to a clip of Trump using the designation in a Fox News interview, adding that Trump “maybe doesn’t know the difference.”

Sanders also called Trump a “pathological liar” for claiming Sanders was “married in Moscow.”

Wallace continued to press Sanders on how he would address criticisms that agenda items such as the Green New Deal, Medicare for All and forgiveness of college debt are both overly radical and prohibitively expensive.

“In many respects, we are a socialist society today,” Sanders responded, noting the tax breaks and subsidies Trump received from the government as a businessman.

Well, he's got point, sort of. Sanders did not in fact "get married" in Moscow.

He took his wife and a group of like-minded Burlington, Vermonters there for his honeymoon.

How sweet.

And as far as anyone has discovered, Bernie has never been a member of the Communist party, either.

The fact that all of his favorite countries, leaders and policies are Communist is entirely coincidental.

Say the word Communist and most people have a negative reaction.  Say the word socialist and people have a softer reaction and in fact many of our millennial say they'd welcome socialism.  I believe Trump chose his words wisely.

Precisely. "Communism" is still a dirty word from the Cold War Era. Social ism, Social Media, everything's social, so the idea of it still being an evil, murderous (sooner or later) totalitarian form of government eludes many.

Even the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) didn't wear the label up front.

Sanders is a bloviating hack.  And yes, it is merely semantics, his democratic socialism.  He is a stinking communist.  What he is, is a phony.  And his wife is a crook.  She was supposed to be facing felony indictments with her activities associated with the college/university she managed, and all that conveniently disappeared.  Why?

Anyone that votes for Sanders is worse than the low volume knowledge voters.  They portend to be in the know, but this simple exercise has worked on every person I know that loves Bernie.  Ask simply, Sanders has been in Congress for like 30 years.  Name three things he has accomplished.  YOU WILL GET CRICKETS.  Ok, then, name one thing.  STILL CRICKETS!!!

Bernie's sole attraction is FREE EDUCATION, FREE HEALTHCARE...FREE THIS, FREE THAT.  He has no concrete ideas how all this FREE SH*T will be paid for other than to say he will tax the rich, but everyone better awaken to the notion that we quickly go to 70-80% tax rates to support his notions.

SANDERS IS AN IDIOT, AND ANYONE THAT VOTES FOR HIM IS THE SAME.  He brings nothing to the party.
