Plan to probe Bidens sparks GOP divisions
By Jordain Carney - 02/07/20 06:00 AM EST

A pledge to investigate the Bidens and Ukraine once the impeachment trial wraps is sparking divisions among Senate Republicans.

President Trump and top allies have homed in on former Vice President Joe Biden’s push to oust a top Ukrainian prosecutor and Hunter Biden’s work for Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian gas company, as they’ve sought to counterprogram on the sidelines of the months-long impeachment drama.

Now, with the trial in the rearview mirror, that chatter is set to move to center stage as Republicans strategize over their next steps. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a vocal ally of Trump’s, is pledging “oversight.”

The dems repeated over and over and over, no one is above the law.  If there is nothing to see why do they mind if we check it out.
If the bidens/et al broke the law then they need to go to jail.

I'd vote for holding off on this - it's starting to look like Biden isn't the one to beat after all and we don't want him out of the race this early.

Its unbelievable.  He won.  He was acquitted but he still wants to keep this crap going.  Well let him because I suspect that not all Senators were as enthusiastic at his innocence as he makes it out to be.  There certainly are questions about whether Shokin was corrupt and that is why he was fired.  Then there is Parnas and Igor who Trump lied and said he didn't know.

Looks like Trumps numbers are pretty good.   But if he continues with the poor me bit he will have to see if supports falls again.  People want to see the government do something.  I actually have been seeing progress with immigration.  That is my main concern.  I liked the move to potentially deny immigrants green cards if they are dependent on the state.  That helps to slow migration and make them realize that they must take care of themselves.

If Trump is going to win the next election it should be about his accomplishments, not about what Biden did.  I actually could see casting a vote for him after the Democrats pathetic display SOTU.   I for the most part liked Trumps speech.  But if he continues to lie and have revenge on the plate instead of moving ahead with the business of a President I absolutely will abstain from voting in the presidential election.

I don't trust Trump as far as I could throw him.  Keep it up Mr. President and I think its likely you are on a path to self destruction.

Name every Republican official who is against investigating the Bidens, and I will bet they are on the same graft and corruption gravy train.
Let it burn.

If they investigate and implicate Joe that's fine. But it doesn't even take an investigation to see that Hunter was getting a payoff solely due to his name. It was obviously a "contingency" fee, and even if the contingency never arose, the Biden family clearly used political position to enrich themselves. Even if no illegality, it was improper by any common sense standard.

Funny how some were/are all gung ho to investigate, investigate, investigate Trump when it comes to democrat corruption it's the same old republican pussification. Republicans are afraid to go after the democrats because some voters may not like them/vote for them. Newsflash, those twits were never going to vote republican anyway! And this is exactly why so many voted for Trump, they were/are sick and tired of surrendering to the democrats. All the crimes Hillary and Bubba committed.......NADA! All the crimes committed by Barry and the democrat operatives in all branches of the government and what happens?.......NADA! People are fed up and that's why they voted Trump and will vote Trump and are willing to put up with the petty behavior he at times exhibit because he doesn't back down from calling out the democrats and holding them accountable!

Was Trump my first choice in 2016? no, do I agree with everything he has said and done? no, Is he a Reagan? HELL NO! But what Trump is, beyond any question in my mind, Trump is the right man for this time in America.    Your mileage may vary.

Unbelievable??  Trump didn't win. He was acquitted because he isn't guilty.  The corruption is still out there -- billions of dollars just disappeared.   It is Trump's responsibility to question where $$ went.  Should he just turn the other way and pretend that everything is ok?

Seeking revenge?  You do realize that first the left came up with accusing him of Russian collusion when it was the Obama administration/Clinton that is guilty.  Then the left accused Trump of Ukraine collusion when it in fact is the Bidens/Obama.

He wants to keep this crap going?   No, he is defending himself as the leftist are already talking about bringing new articles of impeachment against him.

Why do you think they want him gone?  Because he is uncovering their corruption.  He has made progress in spite of their corruption and obstruction.  In spite of all the crap the left throws at him and their obstruction, he has managed to move this country forward.

I invite you to watch when you get a chance.

@Snarknado

I kinda agree. I think the investigation into the corruption of the Biden,Kerry, and Polesi children should go on,but Trump needs to stay out of it and let  the pros quietly handle this in the background. Getting Slow Joe and his offsprung to admit guilt in a plea bargain should be enough. Trump pushing to have a trial and prison time may "feel good" to him and many of his supporters, but it would be a political mistake and make him look vindictive more than it would make Slow Joe look crooked.

A plea bargain would allow him to say "they admitted to being guilty" if he was questioned  on it by a Dim reporter, and that should be good enough for a Trump "told you so! if pushed.
