A U.S. Navy warship severely damaged during a collision with a container ship in the summer of 2017 is back in the water, repaired, and undergoing tests. The USS Fitzgerald, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, is underway in the Gulf of Mexico, testing her repairs and new equipment before rejoining the fleet. The ship departed at 6:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
