Very smart move on his part IMO.

Yes, it was a graceful taunt, a well crafted sentence aimed squarely at democrats’ impeachment wet dreams.

Gee, lemme think. What could possibly be going wrong for the president of the United States?

Oh, I know!

Lies, deceit, betrayal, subterfuge, recriminations, acrimony, disloyalty, media attacks, phony impeachment charges all aimed at him from minute one of his presidency.

So, let’s blame Trump.

Um....need more coffee?   Did you miss this part....?

Clearly.

And that's the problem.

That's letting personal pique override the goal of re-electing Trump.

If people who previously criticized him are now willing to support him...why reject that or attack them?

Same reason they attack people who criticize Trump when he does something wrong and praise him when he does something right.

They are supposed to say good things about him and his Presidency no matter what.  Criticism is verboten.

The only thing destructive about Trump's magnificent SOTU speech was what it did to the Democrats' election strategy.   Because of the brilliant pivot Trump did last night, the Dems now -- perhaps belatedly -- reality that trying to win an election based on nothing more than "we hate Trump" will not work.

Because I’m sick of it. Three years into this phony outrage at TRUMP’S “behavior,” and on the day after he delivered a righteous beat down of those enemies of America in political garb IN CONGRESS (an act conservatives and republicans should cheer) I’m still seeing misdirected criticism at Trump! and not at the scoundrels who illegally and maliciously set Trump up for destruction! I’m in no mood to hear faint support for Trump from GOPers.

How would these principled conservative critics have responded to the constant incoming lies and phony charges, every day from every direction? Angry? Hurt? Frustrated? Presidential?

If anything, Trump has been too Presidential to suit me, too restrained in his actions and words.

Am I bitter? No, I'm not bitter. I'm just consumed by a gnawing hate eating away my gut until I can taste the bile in my mouth. Well, I guess I am a little bitter. Either that or I'm coming down with something. Does anyone have a mint?

And I think that really hit home to them last night.  Nancy might have been weapons grade stupid in her behavior last night...but it also sums up the reality of their situation in the upcoming election too.

My bet is.... we all share that particular affliction.   But not all of us allow our emotions to rule over that "feeling".   At least.... not here on the forum.   Most of us contain/restrain it.

Am I FTFU with the anti-Trump leftist lies/BS?    You betcha.   But despite the bleatings of their leftist media and their forum trolls ....

we're winning.

So instead of a mere mint, try one of these....

It seems you don't like to hear ANY criticism of the CIC. Many of us "principled" conservatives that you have so much contempt for are critical of him over things like the deficits and debt continuing to go up under his watch for one.
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

So, the dims were disappointed because the SOTU speech spoke of genuine accomplishments, and not the make-believe of Adam S.?  Pity......
