That is going to be the reason for a lot of people vote for him this time that didn't last time.

I'll vote for the Trump that gave a great, unifying speech last night...while averting my eyes to the bully who also resides in the WH.

It wasn't the speech that made my mind up, but the Democrats overreaching on impeachment.

You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

You are in good company.  It's driving the Normals into the arms of Trump.

Hey y'all -- Valentine's Day is coming up.   Chocolate cream pie seems very appropriate or perhaps a decadent dark chocolate cheesecake with cherry topping?  Anyone?
Yes!  All of the above.  I'm thinking of Southern Living's Dark Chocolate Lasagna.  Ummm, what to do... 888high58888

I'm with the Belle.  Dark (89% Cocoa or higher).  Trust me on this.  If you ever find a gal who loves Dark, grab her because she's a keeper.

Unsweetened cocoa is great in oatmeal (plus unsweetened almond milk, PB2, cinnamon, chia seeds, walnuts & blueberries).

This is very close to my view.   I have long advocated for a credible challenger to Trump the Bully,  and maybe, just maybe, it could be Trump himself.   His SOTU speech was indeed Reaganesque,  and the Dems in contrast have cast themselves as the bullies.

But can Trump maintain that tone?   To let the bullcrap roll off his back,  and instead of letting the Dems goad him into reckless, petty, offensive tweets,  stay focused on the true message - peace, prosperity, jobs, growth, and a rising tide for all including minorities and women?

The Dems on Tuesday night sat on their hands for all that.   They didn't have a word in response other than to rip up the speech like a petulant child.

Reality alert:  Trump is only going to win reelection if he changes his act.   Can he?  Will he?  Folks here should be applauding posters like @Victoria33 who point out Trump's flaws,  because there's still time for him to change,  and close the sale.

That may be especially true this time, if his opponent is one of the outright socialists - he wouldn't have to worry about amusing his base. With a little discipline he could sway a lot of indies. He shows flashes now and then but I have my doubts. Wouldn't it be ironic if impeachment humbled him just enough to tone down his style and widen his appeal? I hope his advisors can get through to him that crushing the dems where it really matters would be a lot more gratifying than just taunting them.

I think it would be easier to just Impeach him again, harder this time.

I will admit that I did expect Trump to whine about impeachment.  But I don’t think he brought it up at all. If this is the Donald Trump going forward he’s going to probably draw a lot of independents.

OMG!  I never thought about cocoa in my morning oatmeal.   happy77  I usually put fresh fruit, cinnamon (no sugar) and walnuts.  I love my oatmeal and with cocoa it will be even better.  Thanks.

@Jazzhead I can only say, that as a Cruz supporter and one that voted for him in the primaries to defeat Trump, I for a very long time saw Trump as a schoolyard bully.  I do not see him that way anymore.  Not at all.  He has grown as our President and I see him as a true leader of our country, a defender of our Constitutional rights, defender of the right to life, a true patriot and God willing he will remain in good health and be re-elected. No, I do not agree with all of his policies, nor the things that he says at times, but he has accomplished a lot and turned this country around ecopnomically and has pointed us in a much better position than we were heading 3 years ago.

And ... again (sigh) there is no one on the right challenging him; therefore he will be the GOP nominee.  If IA is any indication he will be re-elected, though this should NOT be taken for granted and I put absolutely NOTHING past them DEMS to win the oval office.  The RNC and GOP should not let their guard down; not for a second.

Try the PB2 - it's only 1 gram of sugar per tbsp. And chia seeds are supposed to be some kind of superfood. Ground flax seed is good too. Cinnamon should be Ceylon but we just use the $2 Walmart organic.

@Snarknado irony has been avoided.  He reposted and pinned to the top of his twitter feed the Gif that shows him still president in 2048.

And this morning at the National Prayer Breakfast he held up the USA Today wit the big bold "Acquitted" headling and started in on the Dems and their impeachment attempt.

He's not humbled one bit.

He is learning.   As an outsider, I expected a lot of 'trial and error' in Trump's first two years, but eventually he would figure out what works and what doesn't.      And I think we're seeing that now.   I think he was a bit naïve at first in not recognizing that some of his hires really didn't want him to succeed.

Nor should he be.  He's expanded his base since entering office,  he's converting more and more former "Never Trumpers" every day.

No actually a little humility...especially at the National Prayer Breakfast is what he needed to show.  I know it's too much to ask of him but there's times the boorish bravado and ego need to take a back seat to showing thankfulness for what just happened versus what could have happened.

That's neither here nor there.  Let other Republicans politicians act like that on his behalf.  On this particular stage at this particular time...it was not the look he needed to have.

I believe Trump does it out of calculation and knows it helps him.   The people that are offended are mostly the ones who wouldn't vote for a Republican anyway.

And evidence shows that Trump has increased his support with Republican voters, precisely because of the perception that finally there is someone out there who is willing to dish it out to the Democrats, even if sometimes, it may go a little too far.
