Bolton hits back, decries impeachment witness ‘retribution’

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton on Thursday defended the impeachment inquiry witnesses who have been

attacked by President Trump, implicitly hitting back at similar criticism he has faced for his role in the process.
KXAN reported that as Bolton was speaking to a private gathering for an investment firm in Austin, Texas, he defended several of the officials who testified in the House impeachment hearings, including Alexander Vindman, William Taylor, Fiona Hill, Tim Morrison and Marie Yovanovitch.
"All of them acted in the best interest of the country as they saw it and consistent to what they thought our policies were," Bolton told the audience during a Q&A session, according to KXAN. "The idea that somehow testifying to what you think is true is destructive to the system of government we have — I think, is very nearly the reverse — the exact reverse of the truth."

Well, what Bolton allegedly said can be defended right up until the part about the 'witnesses testifying to what they believe is true'. He leaves all of the context & motives of said witnesses out that makes all the difference and so makes his comment highly misleading.

On Wednesday afternoon, a 2019 interview featuring John Bolton surfaced which appeared to undermine the allegations made in the former national security advisor's forthcoming book of misconduct. The unearthed interview prompted Trump to declare "Game over" for the Democrats.

But even more videos have surfaced that are equally devastating for the Democrats wanting to call John Bolton to testify.

One new clip shows Adam Schiff, the lead House impeachment manager trying to make the case for Bolton to testify, saying Bolton had a "lack of credibility" and was prone to "conspiracy theories." Schiff now argues that Bolton is an important and believable witness.

"This is someone who's likely to exaggerate the dangerous impulses of the president toward belligerence, his proclivity to act without thinking, and his love of conspiracy theories," Schiff said of Bolton to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on March 22, 2018 ... More

And since they will not allow him to testify misleading is what you get.  I don't think that Bolton is just going to forget Trump has trashed his good name and set him as a liar.
