Authorities are revealing what they called "the longest illicit cross-border tunnel" from Mexico to the San Diego area.

The tunnel, which begins in Tijuana, Mexico, was located in an industrial area a half-mile from the Otay Mesa Port of Entry and was concealed by a small industrial building, according to a Wednesday news release by the U.S. Border Patrol San Diego sector and its partners.

Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Aaron M. Heitke said during a news conference Wednesday that the initial discovery had been made on the U.S. side due to "intelligence gathering and technologies." He would not specify which technologies had been used.

Lets see, 5280 feet in a mile (I think).... tunnel they said was a total length of 4,309 feet and deep at 70 feet underground. Just about 200 feet in on the Mexican side, but most the length was on US side.

Said they didn't catch anyone and didn't seize any drugs... what a waste of a find... would of been nice to have loaded it down with explosives and seen the smoke rise from the Mexican side of the border.

One might expect the US would have sensing devices.

If they didn't find any drugs, maybe it's for smuggling Democrats...

Are you sure you understand where the people using the tunnel are coming from? That wouldn't be a deterrent just same old same old.

Haven't you heard? They have been escaping Californey, that is the ones that don't go straight to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico,to all parts north,  and east.
