The inside story behind 3 members of The Base arrested before Va. pro-gun rally

GREENBELT, Md. (WJLA) — Prosecutors said federal agents saved lives by locking up three white supremacists before Monday’s pro-gun rally in Richmond.

Since then, ABC 7 dug through court records that detail the government’s case.  The following is based on the court documents:The BaseIn February of 2018, the FBI said Brian Lemley joined a hate group called “The Base.”


That summer the 33-year old and 19-year old William Bilbrough were accused of training at The Base's camp in Georgia.

Skull Masks and TerrorismThe extremist group looks for applicants with military background and even has members fill out applications.


They wear skull masks and talk about terrorism on secure online chats.


One member wrote, “Because space is compressed in cities, snipers may have to shoot from confined areas such as inside a vehicle like the D.C. snipers...”

They should be a pretty easy outfit to infiltrate.  They don't seem that bright.

Yup, not too bright.  I'm guessing none of them has a clue that if the name they chose for their group is translated into Arabic it becomes "Al Qaeda".

The media needs some reason to explain why the rally didn't live up to their hyperventilated prognostications. Guess this is it.

This "Inside Story" wasn't much of a story... at this point all we have really was they supposeable talked about how to shoot in an urban setting and one Canadian was in the US illegally and may of had guns.... The rest (like training) is not illegal.

Recall, Virginia is banning combat training or at least considering it. Gotta make that look bad. God help kids playing Army if they still do...
