As Sen. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) walked through the hallways of the Senate Thursday, CNN senior congressional correspondent Manu Raju asked her if the Senate should consider “new evidence as part of the impeachment trial.” McSally shot back: “Manu, you’re a liberal hack. I’m not talking to you.”

“You’re not going to comment about this?” a dazed Raju asked. “You’re a liberal hack, buddy,” McSally replied as she walked away. Predictably, conservatives cheered, while mainstream media decried McSally’s move as unbecoming.

In 2017, Raju reported an “exclusive” that Donald Trump Jr. had advance notice of WikiLeaks dumps against the Democratic Party, thus proving criminal conspiracy. It turned out Raju had gotten the date on a supposedly incriminating e-mail wrong: The e-mail apprised Don Jr. of documents that were ­already in the public record.

CNN ran a massively embarrassing correction while insisting the reporter had followed “editorial process.” But Raju never explained how his two supposedly independent sources both got the date on the e-mail wrong.

The Don Jr. e-mail story was just one of dozens of failed scoops that fueled paranoia around the 2016 election results. CNN was perhaps the worst offender, so it really has no business feigning indignation when a Republican senator calls one of its reporters a “hack.”

Best thing Republicans can do now is 'deplatform' them and refuse to give comments and interviews.

Turn them into an even bigger echo chamber than they are and make their influence the size of a kiddie pool.

The MSM have been giving McSally loads of free publicity for her daring to confront a sacred media person with what he is. Knowingly or not, she just used the tactic by which Trump has been getting free publicity from the MSM for years.

Everyone is scandalized that Arizona Senator Martha McSally called a CNN reporter a “liberal hack” and refused to speak with him, but I think this falls into the category of a Michael Kinsley gaffe, that is, when someone tells the truth they’re not supposed to tell in Washington.

As Paul noted yesterday, CNN completely disgraced itself in the Democratic debate Tuesday with its handling of the Warren-Sanders “he said—she said” controversy about whether Sanders told Warren that a woman could not win the presidency, thus proving their total hackery in prime time.

At the Media Research Center, we know a thing or two about singling out liberal bias in the press. Therefore, it's always refreshing when others note the existence of such bias. In this spirit, Senator Martha McSally appeared on Thursday’s Ingraham Angle to discuss her recent encounter with CNN reporter Manu Raju.

Thursday’s impeachment fiasco saw Raju approach McSally in the hallways of Congress with the question: “Should the Senate consider new evidence as part of the impeachment trial?” To which McSally retorted: “You’re a liberal hack.” The reaction on the part of CNN was swift and unrelenting, as noted by Ingraham:
