Bernie Sanders's refusal to fire violent pro-gulag communist on staff speaks volumes
By Monica Showalter

Bernie Sanders has spent years convincing voters that his Soviet honeymoon, his support for the Nicaraguan Sandinistas, his admiration for Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez were all a misunderstanding.  See, it's Denmark, Danish-style socialism he wants for America, not a second Venezuela.  He was really quite reasonable in intentions all along.

It was exposed as garbage the other day, when James O'Keefe released an undercover video of a top-line paid Iowa staffer, Kyle Jurek, praising gulags, re-education camps, burning cities, beaten cops, and killing anyone who resists the "revolution" as the plan all along.  Worse still, he said the Bernie campaign was loaded with such people, and Bernie's moderate claims were a mask.  So much for Bernie's rebranding bid.

I don't know about this "refusal to fire" thing.  Seems as though people are assuming this guy is still getting paid just because there hasn't been a public announcement.  But I did see this:

Kyle Jurek, a field organizer for Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) presidential campaign, was arrested just days before Project Veritas released undercover footage of the self-described “anarcho-communist” suggesting that Trump supporters require re-education in Soviet-style concentration camps.

Jurek was arrested on January 8 by Iowa state police, according to Polk County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Department. Jurek was charged with violation of probation, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to provide proof of financial liability, as well as operating while intoxicated — his second offense. The 38-year-old was previously arrested in September 2019 for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a prescription drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

So if the guy has been arrested on multiple counts...I really doubt that the campaign is still paying the guy.

The Democrats want felons to vote.  I don't see being arrested on drug charges being a disqualification for the job of "Activist."
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

Honestly, that's just rhetoric.  It's almost certain the guy was being paid by the hour, and in that case, he's not getting paid if he's not working.  I hate the Dems as much as anyone, and especially the hard left. But the left is kind of funny -- the rules that they want to apply to everyone else they often ignore when it's applied to them.  So they underpay workers, etc..

Anyway, the point stands.  Just because there hasn't been a public announcement that the guy has been fired doesn't mean he's still employed.

@Cyber Liberty

Think I posted this last year - oh, wait, how many years have I been posting here - really? That many? (Cyber, you know how many years it has been.)  Anyway, it works like this in Texas:

A person in jail who has not been convicted, can vote an absentee ballot while in jail.
When a person is convicted of a crime and gone to jail/prison, the person cannot vote.  Once he/she has served his/her time, and released from jail/prison, he/she can vote a regular ballot.
