Maria Guadalupe Lopez Esquivel, also known by her alias “La Catrina,” was shot in the neck Friday as Mexico’s army, National Guard and Michoacán state police raided the safe house where she stayed with several armed members of the murderous Jalisco New Generation Cartel, according to Britain’s The Sun and the Mexican outlet El Universal.

Shoot or get shot for a lot of those people there in some parts, it's probably somewhat inescapable.  They get pulled into the system and apparently, she was from the state of Michoacan which is among the worst states.

There's been a lot written and there are many photos of these Bimbo Cartel soldiers. Just horrible.

Then, Mexico has their whole "femicide" problem where women already appear very vulnerable... but good if law enforcement stops these people.

The more dangerous states, Michoacan, Tamaluipas, Jalisco, Chihuahua. Incredible.

Not everything is bad, Mexico won some sort of 3 on 3 ice hockey event, really.  Junior Olympics or something. Pretty impressive.

The country has to get it together, I've said it before, it's unfathomable to be living in all that is going on down there. Maybe I should have passed on the OP story, as if we need to know that.  I haven't seen real stories on this in English yet, maybe at the Olympics website.
