Sad news indeed.  I was once fairly close to the Robinson family and will be praying for God to grant them peace and confort.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Oh no...  Was one of my good friends at TOS.  I was  a regular in his weekly football sweepstakes.  Great guy with a hell of a sense of humor.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

I really liked Sheila a lot. In fact, more than I liked Jim.   8888crybaby

Jim Robinson's wife of 50 years, Sheila, has passed away.

Such a rarity these days to see couples remain married to the same person through life.  Mrs. Hoodat and I hope to see our own 50th Anniversary.

JimRob is not a fan of me by any stretch of the imagination, but I hope the best for him.  I pray he finds passion, purpose, and comfort through this new season of his life.

Lionel Hardcastle was the only character I liked in that show...and we watched almost all the episodes.
Yes. Palmer's acerbic asides basically made the show funny.

Bobby Brown, Jr. dies at 28.

He's the third close family member of 90s R&B/hip-hop performer Bobby Brown to meet a premature demise: ex-wife Whitney Houston died in 2012 (age 48) and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown died in 2015 (age 22). Bobby Jr. was born out of a previous relationship Bobby Sr. had with Kim Ward.

Same old chit, new chapter.  I think this is the first pledge drive that Jim isn't an active participant in.

Some of you people need to move on from your obsession.

I considered Jim and Sheila friends, and I'm feeling pretty sad for him now.  I used to send him a PM every year on their Anniversary, even after I left FR for good.

Ditto! Except for the PM part.

:silly: Not obsessed, but whatever. In deference to jmyrle, I'll say no more.

Isn't it interesting that there was a flurry of celebrity deaths, but these last few days have been relatively free of that sort of news? This guy probably warrants a mention, though:

California journalist who pushed for public information dies
By JANIE HAR
November 18, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Tim Crews, a longtime Northern California newspaperman who relentlessly filed public records requests and even did a five-day stint in jail rather than give up anonymous sources, has died at age 77.

Crews died Nov. 12 at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, after weeks in the hospital. The cause of death was sepsis, said his wife, Donna Settle.

Tributes poured in on the Facebook page of The Sacramento Valley Mirror, a twice-weekly newspaper in Glenn County that Crews founded, published and wrote for, even delivering copies. It has no online presence other than on Facebook.

Readers and friends called him a true original, an old-time community journalist who stood up for regular people and published obituaries, even long ones, for free. He dashed about the town of Willows, population 6,000, in red suspenders and with a bushy white beard, covering crime and politics but also community events. ...

He loved to write and help people and he disliked government officials who didn’t want the public to know what they were up to, said Settle, who operated the newspaper with her husband.

“He just wanted to do well for the community, and I think that’s true with a lot of people in journalism,” she said.  ...
Associated Press

Journalists now want to influence the community, not exactly serve them, sad to say.

Thats cause they ain’t no more recognizable celebrities, they all passed away.

When my kids talk about this actor or that musician, I scarcely have a clue.
