Houston pipeline operator Kinder Morgan has sent out its first shipment from the company's Elba Island LNG export terminal in Savannah, Georgia.
The Greek-flagged LNG tanker Maran Gas Lindos left the Savannah, Ga., LNG plant on Friday evening, data from the tanker tracking website Marine Traffic shows.
Located on an island in the Savannah River, the facility has 10 small-scale liquefied natural gas production units known as trains that, once in operation, will be able to make 2.5 million metric tons of LNG per year.
