The UN secretary general today warned the planet is close to “the point of no return” and branded global efforts to combat climate change “utterly inadequate” as world leaders gather for a vital conference on the Paris Agreement. All in a year of below average temperatures and record cold… They’ve been wrong for 40 years. So, when is someone going to call them out?

The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere hit 415.39 parts per million (ppm) in May of this year — the highest level seen in some 3 million years according to scientists at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. CO2 levels are now rising 3 ppm each year, up from an average 2.5 ppm over the last decade, the scientists said.

The last time CO2 levels were this high was during the Pliocene Epoch, 5.3 to 2.6 million years ago, when the Earth was several degrees warmer, sea levels were an estimated 53 feet higher than they are today, and forests grew as far north as the Arctic.

Point of no return?

Releasing Carbon trapped in fossil fuels is releasing carbon that used to be in the atmosphere before plants captured it in the first place.

Wanna bet it was those ancient caveman relatives of Poppaloff 's who were
keeping those meticulous records of Earth's CO 2 levels 3 million years ago?
Why of course they were, cuz how else how would he know???????????
