    Critics noted that Philippe's measures will not resolve the underlying problem — that the French government refuses adequately to secure the country's borders to prevent illegal migrants from entering France in the first place.

Until LePen and her followers get full control, it will never be reversed.
But even if they do, it may already be too late for France.

Unless (of course), the French somehow acquire the intestinal fortitude to "load the boxcars" once again...

I don't see that happening. MY understanding is that France is like lots of US states in the respect that the capital (Paris) has total control over the laws and regulations passed. There are LOTS of conservative people living in Colorado and even in California,but they have no political power at all because politics is a number game,and parasites from all over the world have moved to places like San Francisco and Denver,and even if they don't work,they DO vote and they will ALWAYS vote for "more free stuff".

Look at what has happened to Virginia in recent years. Northern VA and DC completely control the state,and very few of those people were born and grew up in Virginia. They are refugees from leftist shitholes like Maryland and NYC.

...and much like France ... illegal immigration to and through the U.S. continues for the most part unabated.  We still have thousands waiting on asylum, millions are here undocumented and unaccounted for, and our darn borders are still open.

Those that don't see that we are becoming another France or Germany; time to wake up.
