New Zealand to hold referendum on euthanasia
New Zealand's parliament has voted in favour of legalising euthanasia, paving the way for a national referendum on the issue next year.
The law would allow terminally ill people with less than six months to live the opportunity to choose assisted dying if approved by two doctors.
The bill was passed with a vote of 69-51, ending years of heated parliamentary debate on the topic.

Fascinating topic, I've read comments on articles in Canada about this, from the pro-Euthanasia crowd, they say, "well, the person is suffering so much". But to many of us, our faith makes it wrong. As it is, I think we have a little bit of this euthanasia in the US as well.
At least, what will be put up to a national referendum in NZ looks like there are some guidelines, "6 months left to live per Doctors' opinions.
