Colorado’s Independent Ethics Commission released a report Thursday into former Gov. John Hickenlooper’s travel, including interview notes that show a private jet trip to Connecticut last year was paid for by a billionaire friend’s company.

The report, which drew no conclusions, will be used by the ethics commission as it conducts a hearing into Hickenlooper’s travel and whether that travel violated the Colorado Constitution. The report is primarily made up of interview summations, along with documentation such as checks and travel itineraries.  ...  More at Denver Post

Today, former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper addressed a new report on ethics complaints that were made against him last year.
He said his team did everything right to his knowledge, and that journalists should be defending him:

Error 404 (Not Found)!!1

Being a Democrat, so-called journalists probably will defend him, but still - what chutzpah!

Washington Democrats Recruited Colorado’s John Hickenlooper for Senate Nomination Despite Looming Ethics Investigation

The Colorado Independent Ethics Commission is expected to release an investigative report this week into allegations that John Hickenlooper, a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2020, violated state law by receiving free private jet rides and other gifts from corporations when he served as governor. While Hickenlooper has denied any wrongdoing, and last year the Denver Post editorial board said the complaint consisted of “politically motivated lies,” there are fears that the investigation stands to damage Hickenlooper’s chances in Colorado.

The ethics complaint, which was filed last year by former Republican state House Speaker Frank McNulty’s group Public Trust Institute, focuses on a number of trips the former governor made throughout his time in office. A one-year statute of limitations reduced the scope of the investigation to travel between September 2017 and September 2018, which included a high-profile trip to the Bilderberg Meeting in Turin, Italy, a secretive annual gathering of the global elite. The commission last Tuesday voted down requests from Hickenlooper’s attorney to dismiss the complaint and agreed to release the report.

Some progressives worry that Hickenlooper, the current frontrunner and the Democratic Party’s preferred candidate, could fumble the party’s chances of flipping the seat if he is found guilty of violating the state ethics law. ...

...   Democratic Senate candidate John Hickenlooper told a local television station it should be "protecting" him from an ethics complaint alleging that he improperly received gifts as governor of Colorado.

"You guys should be protecting me on stuff like this, where there's no clear—how could there be—what's the confusion, that I had a private meeting?" Hickenlooper said during an interview with KUSA. In the interview, he discussed a Colorado Independent Ethics Commission (CIEC) investigation into a 2018 complaint alleging that he had accepted travel perks, including free jet rides, from friends while he was governor.  ...

They don't even hide it any more.  Democrats have full confidence and expectation that the press is their propaganda wing.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Hickenlooper’s ethics hearing could be delayed by lack of available room
Hearing tentatively set for after Democrats’ Senate caucus

A hearing on the pending ethics complaint concerning former Gov. John Hickenlooper’s travel on private planes might not take place until after Democrats’ caucus to select candidates for the U.S. Senate race.

Hickenlooper, who’s running for the seat, has filed motions to dismiss the allegations, as he and his team continue to characterize them as politically motivated. Colorado’s Independent Ethics Commission, however, didn’t rule on those motions at Thursday’s meeting — the first since the group’s November release of a report on the complaint.

Instead, members tentatively set the hearing for March 17, though staff promised to try to find an earlier date that works. ...

Nothing will happen to him. Colorado politics is controlled by refugees from California and the northeast, and they are going to give him all the cover he needs because he has proven in the past that he will "do business" with them.
