Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders bashed Michael Bloomberg’s potential late entry into the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
Sanders, 78, announced his presidential bid in February and has been campaigning ever since. Bloomberg, 77, floated a presidential run earlier this year but later said he would not be running. That all changed on Friday when he filed for the presidential primary in Alabama.
In a Saturday interview with ABC News, Sanders chalked up Bloomberg’s decision to “arrogance.â€
"That is the arrogance of billionaires," Sanders said. “As I understand it, he’s planning to skip the first four states. We’re doing five events this weekend right here in Iowa, all over New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, California. But he's too important.â€
Sanders claimed Bloomberg’s strategy is to simply charm donors and hope it can carry him to the general election.
