Of course! The ever-trusty “out of context†defense! He really meant that he hoped Allah would shower the casino with blessings.
In reality, this was a real threat, even though he said he would ask Allah to destroy the casino; he didn’t say he would do it himself. The Qur’an, however, says “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands†(Qur’an 9:14): Muslims are the executors of Allah’s wrath. Could that have been what Muadinov had in mind? Investigators are likely too clueless even to try to find out.
