Illegal Aliens Make Up Nearly 40 Percent Of Va. County’s ‘Most Wanted’ List
November 8, 2019 by Dave Gibson

Accomack County is one of only two on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the somewhat isolated community, is located on the Southern edge of the peninsula and dotted with towns with quaint names such as Captain’s Cove and Modest Town, that still bare a strong resemblance to Andy Griffith’s “Mayberry.”

While the closest border crossing is 1,800 miles away from the tiny, rural county, illegal aliens wanted for violent crimes comprise 37.5 percent of the fugitives wanted by the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office.

According to 2010 Census numbers, Accomack County has a population of roughly 33,000, spread out over 1,310 square miles. By 2018, the population had dropped to about 32,000.
