Mexico’s fast track toward a failed state
« on: November 08, 2019, 12:36:13 pm »
Houston Chronicle by Bret Stephens Nov. 8, 2019

On a working visit here, I have dinner with one of the country’s elder statesmen and listen to him describe its greatest challenges. He names three: “Rule of law. Rule of law. And rule of law.”

The truth of the observation is underscored a few days later, when gunmen kill nine members of the LeBarón family along a back-country road in the northern state of Sonora. The motive for the massacre is unclear, but its barbarity is not: three women and six children, including infant twins, shot at close range and burned alive in their cars.

The episode has gained major attention in the U.S. largely because the LeBaróns are part of a long-standing American Mormon presence in northern Mexico. (George Romney, the late Michigan governor and Mitt’s father, was born in a Mormon colony in Chihuahua in 1907, which he was forced to flee as a child during the Mexican Revolution.)

But the reason the killings really matter is that they are yet another reminder that Mexico is on a fast track toward becoming a failed state.

Yet another reason why we need a complete wall that is guarded with our military.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I read an article saying it was headed that way a few years ago. I don't dispute it.

In parts, I think it probably survived being a failed state. The army really has gotten out en masse. I don't know what would be happening in the area of this tragedy this week.  Probably parts are a failed state like Michoacan.

And I'd totally agree in having Romney look into it.  One might not agree with all of his political views but he does know how to get things done, it be the winter olympics or governing a state.

Trump needs to start rounding up Cartel that operate right here in the U.S.  Enslaving our citizens to drug and crime violence and addiction.  Stop them here and they don't have a business.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

#AMLO claims that "the neoliberal model imposed in #LatinAmerica has failed." He is wrong. Neoliberalism brought the Mexican Miracle, a period when #Mexico sustained strong GDP growth for 30 years. #Socialism has done the exact opposite.

What's strange is Mexico has indeed done fairly well economically, it's a paradox.

So Mexico is fast tracking toward a failed state are they?
Malarkey, as they have been a failure for 13,000 years.
First came the Maya, later the Aztec, then Spain tried in 1520
but tossed in the towel after some 300 years.
They can't/won't let go of their tribal mind-set and the results are obvious.
Quoting GDP statistics assumes economics is a barometer of national
greatness and is about as sensible as arguing that;
"we moderns are far superior to the Ancients because we have more stuff."
Too stupid for words!!!
