Everyone in Washington Knows the Whistleblower’s Name

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: No, no, no. I know the whistleblower’s name. At least I’ve been told who people think it is. Apparently, folks, everybody in Washington knows the whistleblower’s name. They’re just trying to figure out a way to get it in the public. Kind of like everybody knew about the Steele dossier but nobody knew how to get it into the public, so they ran a scam on Trump to tell him about the golden showers story and, voila, that bogus dossier makes it in the news.

Well, now the Democrats are trying to keep the name of the whistleblower out of the news, but apparently everybody knows who it is. No, no, no, no. I’m not gonna go there. That’s not the point. Doesn’t matter who the whistleblower is! All that matters is why all of this is happening. And once again I’m gonna explain it to you. It’s what we do here. We make the complex understandable.

Let me just tell you something else, which I’m going to add to and develop later. This whole Ukraine business, this impeachment business, the whistleblowers, the transcript and all these other people coming out and trying to impeach Trump over this, let me tell you what this really is.

What this really is is all of the deep staters — and, by the way, you ought to see, when that term is used on TV, when you got a conservative commentator describing deep state actors or activity, I guess a memo’s gone out for proper facial expressions for leftists and Democrats to make when the term “deep state” is used, ’cause they roll their eyes and they start fake laughing like, “Oh, my God. We just heard some more insanity, the deep state.”

I saw it three times today on Fox. One of them was a reaction to a sound bite from Michael McCaul, who’s a member of Congress from Texas. And the reaction to what he was saying, “This is deep state stuff.” And the Democrat on the panel rolled his eyes, “Oh, my God. There they go again, deep state.”

But it’s exactly right. Deep state, establishment, whatever you want to call it. What really is happening in this Ukraine business, it’s all about the Barr investigation. It’s all about the Durham investigation. The beginning of this was not just about investigating the Bidens. Oh. And wait ’til you hear Brit Hume. Brit Hume has finally learned how Trump speaks. After, what, three years, he’s finally figured out how Trump speaks, and was telling everybody how to interpret Trump on Fox News. We have the audio sound bite coming up. We have a lot coming up.

Ukraine. Remember in January of 2017 before Trump was inaugurated, it was learned that Ukraine had been meddling in the election of 2016 in an attempt to harm Trump. They were helping Hillary. Trump has been asking the president of Ukraine to get to the bottom of that! That’s why he mentioned CrowdStrike in the phone call with the Ukrainian president.

So this whistleblower stuff and Trump doing something so horrible in that phone call that nobody can stand still, nobody can remain quiet, we must do our patriotic duty and step forward and say that Trump is a pig, all of this is to try to thwart the Barr investigation and avert attention from what really happened in Ukraine in terms of election meddling. That is what is actually going on.

All of the anti-Trump people, all of the Never Trumpers in the deep state and everybody else in the media are doing everything they can to hide or explain all of their efforts that they engaged in to harm Trump during the campaign, they’re try to keep it secret. They’re trying to make sure that it doesn’t come out, and if it does come out, they’re trying to discredit it. That’s what this is. And they’re taking it so far as to take it to impeachment.

There’s always so much more than what meets the eye, and there’s always a simple, logical explanation to stuff that on the surface seems odd. Impeaching the president over a phone call for which we have a transcript. The Democrats want to pay more attention to whistleblowers than they do the transcript. The whistleblower wasn’t on the call except now we have the second — not whistleblower, but this Vindman guy. And of course any criticism of Vindman is not to be permitted. Why?

“He’s a decorated West Point graduate, Mr. Limbaugh. He wears the uniform of the United States Army. He’s been working in the White House for decades. You can’t criticize people like that.” Oh. But it’s okay to destroy Michael Flynn? He wore the uniform of the U.S. military. He worked for the defense intelligence. We can destroy Michael Flynn, we can destroy any number of people who wore the uniform, but somehow Vindman is untouchable?

Guess what Vindman is saying? ‘Cause everybody knows the transcript cancels the whistleblower. So now Vindman says, “Well, I was on that call, and that transcript has been edited. There were things that Trump said that’s not in that transcript.” Oh, really? So now we’ve got someone who is claiming that the transcript was edited and was incomplete. You see how they cover all of their bases? Trump blows up the scheme by releasing the transcript, obviating the need and relevance of the whistleblower.

Vindman may be the guy — we don’t know — Vindman may be the guy that told the whistleblower. So Vindman would actually be silent whistleblower number 1. The whistleblower we all know about would be whistleblower number 2. He’s the guy that called Schiff. And they were all working with Schiff. And Schiff doesn’t want that to come out. Wait ’til you hear the rules, wait ’til you hear the rules in this impeachment resolution that the Democrats have come up with. Wait ’til you hear these. I’ve got them ready to explain to you in an easily understandable way, as well as all of this that I have touched on now.

Tom Brokaw Warns Dems: You Don’t Have the Goods on Trump

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: Chuck You Schumer, the Senate minority leader, says he is “increasingly worried” that Trump may shut down the government again because of impeachment. Schumer says he’s worried that Trump might do this. Where was Schumer when Clinton was launching missile attacks into Tylenol factories and office buildings in downtown Baghdad? Mind you, this is the same Chuck You Schumer who constantly threatens to shut down the government (laughing) if he doesn’t get what he wants. I thought Chuck and Nancy were saying that Trump wanted them to impeach him!

I thought they said that Trump was trying to goad them. Remember two, three weeks ago — maybe a month now — Pelosi said she wasn’t gonna fall for the trick? She wasn’t gonna authorize a vote on impeachment because that’s what Trump wanted. Trump was trying to goad them into impeaching him. My how things change. Now they’re impeaching him, or they claim they’re going to. Big vote tomorrow. Now they’re worried Trump may shut down the government to stop it. There’s interesting polling data on this, by the way.

We’ve had polling data all over the place all week long. We’ve had the poll that shows 30% of the American public — or Millennials — now favor communism. Seventy percent think socialism is okay. The polling data has been very distressing, and it’s been all over the place. Well, here is a poll from Selzer & Company at Grinnell College: “7-in-10 Voters Believe in ‘America First’ Agenda Ahead of 2020 Election,” and, “New Poll Poses Serious Questions About Democrats’ Impeachment Drive.”

This is a Suffolk University poll, and you have to do a little addition on this poll to find out what it really means. But Suffolk University’s poll, let’s deal with that one first. That was for USA Today. They “gave 1,000 registered voters an opportunity to choose among three options regarding impeachment. Which did respondents personally prefer?” Here are the three options: “A) The House of Representatives should vote to impeach President Trump. B) The House should continue investigating Trump, but not vote to impeach him. C) Congress should drop its investigations into President Trump and administration.”

So here’s how the answers came out: “Thirty-six percent of those polled said the House should vote to impeach, 22% said the House should continue investigation but not impeach, and 37% said the House should drop it…” So if you add ’em up, you have 59% of the respondents in this poll who do not favor impeachment. No way! You’ve only got 36% who do, and that’s probably a large part of the Democrat base — and this is not changing. This poll is not much different from similar polls from weeks and months ago.

So the polling data here is not in Democrats’ favor! Impeachment is a political event. It’s not legal. It happens within the political process under the guise of a trial over high crimes and misdemeanors and so forth. But it essentially is a political thing. And if you do not have public opinion behind your effort, it is going to bomb, and it isn’t gonna happen. And even Tom Brokaw… Tom Brokaw was on MSNBC yesterday with Andrea Mitchell, NBC News, Washington, and we have the sound bite. I’m looking for it even as we speak.

It’s number 6. Tom Brokaw is telling everybody (summarized), “Be careful because you guys don’t have anything yet. Nixon, we had the goods!” Brokaw said, “We had Nixon dead to rights. We knew we were gonna nail Nixon. But you guys don’t have anything on Trump.” Andrea Mitchell’s question: “In August of ‘73, Nixon gives an Oval Office speech, and he’s in total denial. And in just one year, by August 9th, he was out of there, and it was Republicans who go to him and say, ‘You’ve got to resign or you’re going to be impeached; you’re going to be convicted in the Senate.’”

Here’s what Brokaw said…

BROKAW: The big difference is, however, Andrea, that they still don’t have what you would call the goods on this president in terms of breaking the law and being an impeachable target for them. They’re gonna start the process, but they don’t have the same kind of clarity that the people who were opposed to Richard Nixon had because it was so clear that these were criminal acts that he was involved in.

RUSH: Uh-oh. Brokaw’s an outlier here. He may be one of the only people in the media-Democrat complex who thinks this, and he’s warning her. Look, Brokaw can read the polls too, and he knows that they just don’t have the goods here. Trump hasn’t committed an impeachable offense. This phone call is not an impeachable offense.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The other polling data, there were two polls I shared with you, the USA Today-Suffolk where you add two of the three responses, you get nearly 60% of the American people that USA Today talked to that do not want to impeach. Here’s the poll by Selzer and Company/Grinnell College: “A majority of American adults say they are America First voters, while less than 20 percent identify as socialists.”

Now, we’ve had polls this week about how Millennials love socialism, something like nearly two thirds, almost 70% thought socialism is the answer. Thirty percent said they loved communism. People look at that, “Oh, my God. We’re losing the kids. Oh, my God.” It’s hard not to believe these things, you see them in print.

But ahead of the 2020 presidential election, the overwhelmingly majority — this is a likely voter poll. Seventy percent, seven in 10 likely voters say they believe in the doctrine of America First, i.e. Make America Great Again. Again, this poll is by Selzer and Company.

“America First — the nationalist-populist doctrine that guides President Trump’s agenda on immigration, trade, healthcare, and foreign policy, among others. The poll details how increasingly, Americans identify as believers in America First. For example, in September, about 66 percent of likely voters said they believed in America First. In about one month, the total of likely voters describing themselves as America First believers jumped four percentage points.”

So we’ve got two different polls here, both of them suggest that the Democrats are not pulling off this impeachment with the public. We’ve also got the report that Republican National Committee RNC internal polling data — shared this with you yesterday — they have impeachment 10 points underwater. Meaning people favoring impeachment are 10% less than those opposed to it.

The Democrats are out saying, “No, no, no, no. Our polling data shows it’s moving in the direction, trending toward impeaching the president.” Well, it must be a poll that nobody has seen. They haven’t published it, so I don’t know what poll, if it’s internal, they wouldn’t.

Impeachment: A Deep State Diversion from What They Did in Ukraine

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: Folks, it is hilarious now that Vindman… This is the most recent witness. This is this a guy you saw on video yesterday in his full, dress Army uniform, and he was walking all over Washington into the Capitol building.

He was surrounded by people, and the image was clear: “Decorated military veteran! Ukraine expert! National Security Council!” It turns out that Vindman was on the call. He was very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very upset at what Trump said. Very, very! He had to tell somebody. Now, we think it was Vindman who told the whistleblower. So it would make Vindman actually whistleblower number 1, except he didn’t blow the whistle.

He transferred the news to somebody else who then called Schiff, who did not hear the phone call. Then the transcript is released and, folks, I cannot… You know what gives up the ghost in this is the transcript has been released and there’s nothing in it that is impeachable, not a thing that is impeachable in it. The whistleblower that blew the whistle never even heard the call. He was given the information secondhand — we now believe by Vindman.

So Vindman is now saying that the transcript that was released did not contain everything he heard. So now Vindman is accusing the White House of editing the transcript and leaving out vital information. I’m gonna tell you right now what this is all about — and do not doubt me. This is an effort to divert attention away from the same people that ran the Russia collusion hoax or coup against Trump. This phone call to the Ukrainian president where he happened to mention investigating Biden was all about getting the Ukrainian president to cooperate with Barr.

The telltale sign of that is Trump’s mentioning of the word CrowdStrike. That’s the independent firm the Democrats hired to forensically analyze their supposedly Russian-hacked server at the DNC. That’s what Trump is doing. That’s what they’re trying to stop. They are trying to make sure Barr doesn’t find anything. They’re diverting public opinion away from themselves. This is a very elaborate and well-laid out cover-up that all of these Democrats and media people are involved in — and, of course, I find it fascinating.

(sniveling) “We’re not supposed to cast judgment on a decorated military person.”

Vindman!

“There he is in his official Army uniform! He’s walking with great dignity throughout the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. He’s on the way to tell Schiff what Trump did. He’s on the way to explain how horrible Trump is and how horrible Trump was on the phone call.” So naturally there are people who are attacking Vindman and his motives, which then draws a response from people. (impression) “We can’t attack a decorated military person! That’s unseemly. Who do we think we are? That’s not the way to go about this. That’s not the way to defend the president, not to attack a decorated military hero and Ukraine expert.”

Well, how does that explain how Michael Flynn was treated, then? Michael Flynn, a decorated military man, great patriot, tremendous service to America, and about all that happened to him was that he was destroyed. He was destroyed. They set him up! He was interviewed by the FBI and didn’t even know he was being interviewed.

Comey has bragged about how easy it was to set Flynn up. Comey’s bragged to his buddies how easy it was. You know how they did it? They sent McCabe and some people, Strzok Smirk, to the White House shortly after Trump had been inaugurated when they figured nobody knew what was going on yet.

And they’re walking through the halls of the West Wing and they encounter people, “Hey, General Flynn, you got time for a couple questions?” And Flynn thinks that it’s official, the FBI, he’s the new national security guy, they’re talking about his upcoming job, when in fact he was being set up. He was being interviewed about his contacts with the Soviet Ambassador Kislyak. And Comey has bragged about it.

The point is, they didn’t think twice about destroying a fine, decorated military hero, Michael Flynn. In fact, they eagerly attacked the effort to destroy him and his family. Mueller, the supposed most honorable man in Washington, no greater integrity, participated in all of this.

Now it’s awfully convenient, we’re not supposed to doubt Vindman because he’s a decorated military man serving his country, great patriot, Ukraine expert, all of which may be true. But notice how the Democrats try to apply blanket immunity to all of their witnesses, and it doesn’t matter who their targets are. If they wear the uniform of the U.S. military, it doesn’t matter, they can destroy ’em, they can seek ’em out, and they can threaten them, they can intimidate them, they can threaten to destroy their families, and they do.

But this thing in Ukraine, they want you to believe that Trump is being impeached because he asked the president of Ukraine to go dig up dirt on the Bidens. And that’s not what the president did. He didn’t ask anybody to dig up dirt. He didn’t ask anybody to make up dirt. The transcript is as clear as a bell.

It is Adam Schiff who claims that Trump asked for information to be made up, to be dug up, but this is about much more than Bidens. This is about thwarting Trump’s effort and William Barr’s effort to get to the bottom of what happened in this investigation of Trump and his so-called collaboration and collusion with Russia.

Ukraine was a central player in the effort to elect Hillary Clinton. And all of these people, from Schiff and the Democrats to every one of their witnesses being dragged forward is there to protect the establishment and divert everybody’s attention away from what they did to try to destroy Trump. And they’ve converted this into some sort of now impeachment hearings.

I think I’ve been right from the get-go that we’re living here in the middle of a gigantic illusion that has and is being created and maintained. That is designed to make people think something’s going on that isn’t. For example, there isn’t any impeachment yet. The vote’s gonna be tomorrow, but wait ’til you hear when we get to the rules that they have established for this procedure.

Whatever this is, it’s not a genuine impeachment. It’s not bipartisan. It’s nothing of the sort. And I think Pelosi has stepped in it big time. I think she’s done things that are gonna do great damage to her own party because she’s kowtowing to the radicals, the real radicals in it.

And while all this is happening, she is going to see to it that this country becomes even more divided and more partisan. It’s gonna become a culture and society more and more roiled. And she wants to get all this done before the end of the year so that they can then take whatever they do and attach it to their presidential campaign in the next year.

But whatever all of this is, it’s got one purpose. To get rid of Donald Trump because he’s Donald Trump. They want to impeach Donald Trump because he won. They want to impeach Donald Trump because he beat Hillary. They want to impeach Donald Trump because he’s president. They want to impeach Donald Trump because he will not resign. They want to impeach Donald Trump because he continues to implement his agenda. They essentially want to impeach Donald Trump because they can’t figure out any other way to beat him.

The Campaign Against Lee Smith’s Book

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: So get this. Apparently people are having trouble finding copies of Lee Smith’s book, The Plot Against the President. So he has tweeted, “Thanks for your support. Amazon’s restocking. Books will be available very soon, not one to two months.” Apparently the word’s being spread that the book is not doing well, and they can’t stock it, it will be available in one or two months. There is a whole campaign against it, Smith says, but there are books at Barnes & Noble.

You can also get it at Apple iBooks. They haven’t gotten around to banning it yet. I don’t know that they will, but I just checked to see if I could get it there, and I could. So it’s obtainable. Now, that’s the e-book version. As a powerful, influential member of the media I’ve had my hardcover version for some weeks. But the e-book, you could find it out there if you want to read on your phone, your iPad or whatever. So just to let you know.

Liberals Root for Environmentalist-Caused Fire to Burn Reagan Library

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: Have you seen, folks, the Reagan Library is now surrounded by — Fox is calling it a brushfire. There’s a bunch of different fires. There’s the Getty fire. This brushfire is in Simi Valley, and it is very, very near the Reagan Library. Employees at the Reagan Library — “liberry,” for those of you in Rio Linda — have been ordered to evacuate.

And I can’t help it, this is a little bit symbolic. Here you have the library of Ronaldus Magnus in the communist state of California. I can’t help but think that some in the media are rooting for the fire, maybe the first time ever that a fire has had fans. I mean supporters.

But I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if a bunch of leftists say, “Burn, baby, burn! Get rid of Reagan forever. We can put up a new solar plant.” Did you see where Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, has publicly announced that the Getty Fire… By the way, do you know how they name fires? Well, it’s not all that complicated, but the names of fires are so odd that I had to look into it. You know, like the Lockerbie Fire, but there’s no Lockerbie, or whatever the names are of the big fires recently in California. They are the location where they think this fire began.

So if it’s a street corner of, you know, Khrushchev Avenue and Castro Street, they’ll call it “the Castro Fire,” and then you say, “Castro Fire? What? What?” (chuckling) Well, we’re talking California. (interruption) Well, I don’t… (sigh) Give them time. They’ll figure out a way to sell naming rights to the fires because they’re gonna become so frequent. Now, let me ask you a question, ’cause I want to share something with you that happened many times to me when I moved to California in 1984.

When I’ve flown over the country or when I’ve driven around it, I have seen massive power lines that have been run up and down forest hillsides, and next to the power poles — the towers, the structures — they clear-cut the forest in a very wide swath (like 10, 15 yards) on both sides of the tower on which the electricity wires are strung. I looked at that and said, “This is ugly,” you know, before I knew what was going on. “This is ugly. How in the hell can anybody…?” Now I know why.

They clear-cut the forest so in case a downed power line falls, it’ll fall on nothing that could turn into a fire, nothing that could catch fire. Well, this is what California has not permitted to happen. The environmentalist wackos are the reason for the fire, not PG&E, and not anybody else. The environmentalist wackos have prevented the clear cutting of any wood — deadwood, waste wood. They won’t permit it on the basis that it’s au natural. “It’s the way it was intended by nature. There could be unknown, unnamed species living in that deadwood!

“You can’t touch it.” So in California, you can’t touch it. So Gavin Newsom says that a downed power line started the Getty Fire. A tree branch from a eucalyptus tree fell on a power wire, and that caused the wire to go down. He called it “an act of God” in one of the most recent, rare expressions of the existence of God by a California government official. God? You know, God exists in California when you can blame Him! Uh, Her, It, They. (I’m trying to be woke.)

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This is serious, folks. Here in California, if you want to know how to control a population, don’t clear-cut, do not allow forests to be managed properly, do not allow land to be managed properly. Get government bureaucrats who don’t know what they’re doing in charge of everything. Now they’re telling us that the new norm in California is to expect blackouts. Expect interruptions in electricity. Expect it for days at a time, because of what we know is gonna happen every year: Winds. Santa Ana winds and fire.

So guess who’s getting the blame? Guess who’s having to take and suffer consequences? The citizens of California! This stuff could be dealt with much more wisely than it is being. Clear-cut near the power plants. Make sure that a downed branch of a tree doesn’t start a fire, that shuts down electricity for two weeks. The governor actually said this? If they can’t protect people from downed branch from a tree… But it’s worse than that.

While they have not been permitting proper forest management and land management, what else have they been doing? They’ve been encouraging as many people as possible to go out and buy an electronic car, an electric car, battery-driven car. Then what do they do? Shut down power! So now these people that have electronic cars can’t charge ’em. They can’t evacuate if they have to unless they do it on foot, or maybe you get lucky and somebody hasn’t bought an electric car, and somebody still has an SUV.

You can hitch a ride down the mountainside to save yourself! ‘Cause the state of California has shut down power plants randomly and told everybody, “This is the new norm.” After making sure as many people as possible drive around in Teslas and Priuses and whatever the heck else, you shut down the power plants. Now hospitals and other emergencies, they’ve got generator backups.

But how do you put a generator backup on your Tesla? How do you do it? They don’t allow any fossil-fuel burning engines in these things that would destroy the environment. So you sit there and you die. You’re unable to escape. You can’t charge the battery in your car. And there’s not a single Republican fingerprint on any of this insanity anywhere in California.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: No sooner do I say it — even though I might have been half joking — and it comes true. I said, “The brush fire threatening the Reagan library in Simi Valley would have the media rooting for the fire.” Lo and behold (put it up on the Dittocam there, Brian), we have a tweet. It’s a guy named Keith Boykin. The guy works at CNN. He’s a former Obama adviser. “For those who think God punishes sinners with natural disasters,” and he has a picture of the Reagan library near the brush fire.

We have here a former Obama aide and a current CNN analyst rooting for the fire to destroy the Reagan library. Keith Boykin. “For those who think God punishes sinners with natural disasters…” So Reagan’s a sinner, obviously. Why? Oh, he’s a conservative! Absolutely. He sinned against the left-wing state by opposing it. The Ronaldus Magnus “presidential library is being threatened by the Easy Fire in Simi Valley.” See, this one’s called the Easy Fire, and I guarantee you there’s an Easy Street or an Easy Strip Club or an Easy something nearby.

That’s why it’s called the Easy Fire. That’s gonna be why. They don’t just randomly choose these names. There’s a geographical tag to these things. “Mandatory evacuations were ordered Wednesday morning in Southern California as a rapidly moving wildfire ignited and burned in Simi Valley, near the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.” So Keith Boykin thinks God is pushing Reagan via his library — he is a sinner — with natural disasters.

Now, stop and think. If God actually did that, how could there be a Washington, D.C.? How could there be a Chappaquiddick? How could there be a Boston? How could there be a Hyannis Port? How could there be… (Snort!) Take your pick of any institutional location that you want. Speaking of sin and California, for crying out loud, how could there even be a California if God punished sinners!

But that’s not the point. The point is, the Reagan library is surrounded by what is being called the Easy Fire. Employees have been ordered to evacuate. It is a little symbolic. Here is something the left despises, Ronald Reagan, and they’re actually rooting for the fire and tweeting out their support of the fire, and I just wanted you to see it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Man, am I on the cutting edge or am I on the cutting edge? Look at this headline. It’s from The Daily Caller: “Tesla Warns Californian Customers To Keep A Full Charge Ahead Of Roving Blackouts.” That’s not the story. The story is: “Some electric vehicle owners in California are resorting to –” dadelut, dadelut, dadelut, dadelut, dadelut “– using gasoline power as the state’s power utility employs roving blackouts to avoid potential wildfires.”

Excuse me for smiling here. I know overall this is not a laughing matter, but this is manmade. Unlike climate change, California’s situation is contributed to by incompetent leftist politicians, inexperienced know-it-alls who think they can manage everything that they’ve never managed in their lives because they’re smarter than everybody or they care more than anybody else.

Elon Musk warned his customers today to be aware of the problems. You think they’re not? You think electric car owners don’t know the jam that they’re in here? Where do you think they think the power comes from when they plug in to charge? The cornstalk in the backyard? No. It comes from the power company. And what’s powering it? Fossil fuels, namely evil, dirty, filthy black coal.

And you know where it’s from? China. You know how much coal we import from China? It’s not our sole source, obviously. We have domestic supplies, but we import a hell of a lot of coal from China. There are power plants in Connecticut that are run by ChiCom coal. I may even be the name of the company, ChiCom Coal, for all I know.

So Elon Musk is warning the owners of his Tesla vehicles to be aware of the problem of roving blackouts and to fully energize their vehicles instead of relying on half power. Energize, for those of you in Rio Linda, means charge ’em. “Two electric vehicle owners in the state say they are not taking any chances and will rely on gas power to run their cars if they lose power.”

As I say, it’s not a laughing matter, but, hell, you can’t help but be smug because this is a manmade problem, or contributed to problem, in California.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: To the phones. We’re gonna start with Daniel in Simi Valley, California. Great to have you on the program, sir. You’re up first today.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, how you doing?

RUSH: Good, sir. Thank you.

CALLER: I’d just like to say I’m a Millennial that lives in Simi Valley right now. I just got back from the grocery store. I had to buy dry ice ’cause our power got shut off for all our fridges. The power got shut off at 3 o’clock in the morning, and the fire started at six. So even though they shut our power off, we’re still getting the wildfires here.

RUSH: Okay. So what are you gonna do?

CALLER: Well, luckily I’m on the east side of town, it’s burning on the west, so we’re just keeping an eye on it and hoping that we don’t have to evacuate and just try and stay safe from the fires. The other point I’d like to make is Gavin Newsom took money from PG&E after they were convicted of a felony for the murders of the people up in Paradise a couple years ago, and while —

RUSH: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold it a second. Hold it. PG&E was convicted of murder?

CALLER: Well, they were convicted of a felony. They got a felony conviction for the Paradise fire that caused the deaths of 85 people up in Paradise.

RUSH: Okay. So what was the felony they committed, do you remember?

CALLER: I don’t know the felony. It just got reported. The other day it broke they were asking questions if he was gonna donate the campaign money, but he took over $200,000 from them.

RUSH: Before or after that?

CALLER: After the conviction. He took the campaign donations after, along with I think 90% of our state —

RUSH: Right. Now he’s out there jamming ’em. See this is the game, folks. He’s out there jamming PG&E for causing the Getty fire. Yeah. You see what happened, a eucalyptus tree had a branch on it that fell, took a power line with it. The power line ignited essentially kindling, deadwood, at the bottom of the pole. Poof, you’ve got a big fire. He’s blaming PG&E. It’s not PG&E’s fault. They’re not allowed to cut that stuff away.

Again, I go back. I know you have all seen this. Well, most of you have. You’ve driven around, and if you’ve been out in the countryside, you’ve no doubt seen where they have run countless numbers of poles, big metallic poles on which to string power lines up a hillside and down the other side to get electricity to a small town nearby or whatever. And underneath all of that construction they’ve clear-cut like 10 to 20 yards on either side of the pole.

The first time I saw it — you know, having been sensitized to the dangers of clear cutting and the spotted owl and all that — I said, “Why? It’s ugly as hell.” Now I know why. I’ve grown up, and now I understand that this was done to prevent fires in case something like high winds or a bolt of lightning took down a power line. There’s nothing underneath to ignite, so no fire will start. Well, in California, there’s all kinds of stuff underneath electricity wires to ignite.

So he’s now blaming PG&E — and apparently PG&E was charged with a felony for the Paradise Fire — and yet he’s accepting donations. He’s apparently out there seeking donations. So what’s the game? Well, there’s a wink and a nod. PG&E gives money to Gavin Newsom, and like everybody else gives money to political candidates, they’re trying to buy something. “Quid pro quo” is what it’s called, folks. They’re trying to buy easy treatment from the state, favorable treatment from the state, favorable regulatory arrangements, whatever.

They understand. They understand. PG&E and other donors understand that the recipient — the politician you’re giving money to — may have to wink at you and rip you in public now and then. But it’s a wink and a nod and PG&E knows that the governor has to do it, and it’s evidenced by the fact that they continue to give him money. It’s pay-for-play, and it’s one of the many aspects of politics that people have resented for a long time. It’s made them think they really don’t have any say-so in political affairs. But this California situation…

You know, I love it there, folks. I would actually at one point… I did live there for 3-1/2 years, and I love it. But the taxes and the culture and now this, the fires that are happening? It just distresses me to see this happening when you realize this isn’t necessary. The extent of these fires isn’t necessary. Look, they’ve always had them because of these incredible winds, and California’s a desert. There is no natural water source. So they have to make arrangements to truck it in.

This is what I’ve always meant by human beings have to adapt. If we as human beings choose to live where natural resources that are needed don’t exist, okay, then we’re acknowledging that we’re gonna have to pay through the nose to bring ’em in! You live in a desert where nothing will grow because there’s no water and the weather is such? Well, that’s what California, Southern California is. It’s essentially arid. They have to get water from the northern part of the state and from Colorado. They have to pay through the nose for it.

Everybody living there has to know what they’re doing. It’s no different than people like me who live on the coast in Hurricane Alley. You adapt if you’re responsible with it. But when a natural disaster like a fire happens or a hurricane, you can’t sit there saying (whining), “Oh, my God! This is so unfair,” because we chose to live there knowing full well what could happen. The same thing with people in California.

Now, in California it’s compounded because of the incompetence of the people they’ve elected. These fires that happen annually and naturally are being exacerbated. They are being made larger and more dangerous by the fact that a bunch of incompetent people that residents of California have elected have instituted policies that favor fires over citizens and over their property — and unknown species that may live in the bottom of one of those piles of kindling at the bottom of an electricity power pole.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Staying with the phones, Fontana, California, this is Tony.

CALLER: Hi, Rush!

RUSH: Tony, how are you? Great to have you here.

CALLER: I’m fantastic. Great to be on the show. First-time caller. I’m super happy. So I was telling your screener, I live in Fontana. Every year, we deal with horrible things.

RUSH: Okay. Tell people, where is Fontana?

CALLER: Near San Bernardino, Ontario, Riverside.

RUSH: Gotcha. Okay. Thank you.

CALLER: Every year we deal with horrible winds from October to December. It destroys my Halloween stuff every single year. It’s part of what we deal with. This year, of course, with these power outages we’ve been experiencing for the past several years… We live, as well as several of my friends live, in very new neighborhoods and communities where all of our power lines are underground.

RUSH: Your power lines are underground and yet they’re still cutting your power?

CALLER: And they’re still shutting off our power, okay? Entire refrigerators and freezers worth of food, gone. Devices not charging. Not being able to prepare for work. We’re shut down and absolutely no compensation.

RUSH: Now, why did they tell you…? When they wanted to pass the bond issue to charge you to rerun the lines underground, what did they tell you was the reason for doing this?

CALLER: Honestly, I don’t know what the reason was. Probably because they were gonna be saving power or —

RUSH: Let me tell you what the reason is, ’cause they’re doing this where I live. They’re running power lines underground so that there will never be an interruption. (chuckles) No hurricane can ever destroy power lines that are run underground. Fire, rainstorms, thunder, climate change, nothing is supposed to interrupt power when it’s underground. That’s why you paid additional for it — and yet here it’s been cut off.

Now, I’m sure they haven’t finished the whole project, so much of the power to your lines that are underground is still delivered above ground. But I’ll bet you that the same thing happens even when and if they ever complete this in your region where the power lines are fully underground. You watch. There will still be an excuse. (sigh) I try never, ladies and gentlemen, to get personal on this program, but I’m telling you.

If you ever agree to do this where you live, you better find out first if they’re gonna go underneath the roads, ’cause I’m telling you: I may as well be driving home to Kabul every day. I’ve got potholes like sinkholes that I’m driving and avoiding, and I’ve got people behind me thinking I’m drunk ’cause I’m trying to avoid all the potholes and sinkholes I see, and they’re flashing their lights at me. Pretty soon, one of them’s gonna call the cops on me, and I’m just trying to make sure my car doesn’t get destroyed driving home!

Thomas L. Friedman Doesn’t Sound Like He’s Winning

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: I’m looking for Thomas “Loopy” Friedman in the audio sound bites, and it is number 9. I want to play for you a sound bite.

This guy is the foreign policy columnist, the foreign policy expert of the Democrat-media complex writing at the New York Times — Thomas L. “Loopy” Friedman — and last night he was on Anderson Cooper 135 on CNN. He breaks down! (sobbing) “He’s worried about the future of this country more than at any other time because Republicans won’t even impeach Trump! (sniffling) He doesn’t know what to do! He’s at his wits’ end.” I want you to listen to this. I want you to listen to his voice and ask yourself if this sounds like somebody who thinks he’s winning.

Here’s the question from Anderson Cooper: “Alexander Vindman, who served two decades in the military, has shrapnel in his body from an IED attack…” That’s more evidence why we cannot disagree. Why, he’s still running around with shrapnel! He was severing in Iraq. (Snort!) Well, that ought to disqualify him right there. Every damn one of you people hated the war in Iraq. This guy ought to be a war criminal to you! Vindman ought to be one of the cabal that conducted this illegal “Bush war”!

Friedman, Anderson Cooper, every damn one of these people tried to destroy the Iraq war effort. Now they’re praising and protecting and claiming a participant in the Iraq war is unassailable ’cause he’s still carrying shrapnel. “Yeah, so you leave him alone,” they’re saying. So this is part of the question. “Alexander Vindman, who served two decades in the military, has shrapnel in his body from an IED attack while serving in Iraq. He’s being accused by President Trump’s allies as [sic] being disloyal to America over his testimony in the impeachment inquiry.

“Does this only go downhill from here? I’m not sure how much lower it can get!” So Anderson Cooper’s asking (summarized), “Is this it, Thomas? We got ’em now, right? This is so horrible, so rotten, attacking this military guy.” These are people that hate the military. These are people that suspect the military. I’m talking about Anderson Cooper and the left wing, the media. They’ve got no reverence for the military unless somebody there is gonna be doing their bidding, which think Vindman is. Here’s “Loopy” Friedman’s response.

FRIEDMAN: I worry about the future of my country today more than any time in my life. What Trump engaged in was an impeachable offense — and instead of calling that out, getting to the bottom of it, and instead of attacking that, they’re attacking the process and the very system of our government. This is so dangerous. This is so despicable. They are disgusting and hurting our country. (pounding desk) These people won’t make the smallest sacrifice, ’cause Donald Trump might not tweet them or they might not get invited for his next golf round? They are disgusting, they are shameful, and they are hurting our country.

RUSH: (sniveling) “He’s so upset (sobbing) he’s pounding the desk!” Does this sound like somebody winning to you? Does this sound like somebody who thinks they’re going downhill? This guy’s frustrated because the Republicans won’t do their work for ’em! This guy’s upset because the Republicans won’t join them to get rid of their own president! You need the American people, Mr. Friedman. That’s how you’re gonna get the Republicans. If you can’t get the American people behind this, then you’re gonna bomb out — and so far, you’re bombing!

You don’t have the American people because this isn’t an impeachable offense. What’s despicable is the way the Democrats are using this process and monkeying around with it, denying due process, not releasing transcripts, not permitting any American to hear what’s actually going on in his room two floors above street level in the House. (sniveling) “This is disgusting, hurting our country. These people won’t make the smallest sacrifice ’cause Donald Trump might not invite them to play golf.”

What’s on Friedman’s mind? He’s upset that he’s not been invited to play golf! This is really what he thinks is going on? “Republicans are not gonna abandon Trump because they might not be invited to play golf with Trump ever again!” And yet these are the people who live and die by the various cocktail parties they are invited to and host. But regardless, I just wanted you to hear it ’cause he’s practically crying. He’s pounding the table. He’s upset the Republicans won’t do what you can’t. They have tried for three years now to separate Donald Trump from his voters (sobbing), “And they haven’t succeeded.

“So they want the Republicans to do it (sniffling) for the sake of our country.”

No, they want Republicans to do it so Democrats can get all power back. These are the people that our despicable. And see? Right there, flash evidence of the partisan divide — and it’s only gonna get worse as Pelosi continues down this slow, dribbling hill of hers that she’s made.

Should You Fight Back Against a Phony Premise?

Oct 30, 2019

RUSH: Here’s Stewart in Charlotte, North Carolina. Great that you waited, sir. Thank you.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thank you. Look, I am just blown away at how far into the weeds we have allowed the whole Ukraine call thing to get. I think the administration should not waste any time defending that which does not need to be defended. No matter what Trump said on the phone call, foreign aid is given to countries with the mutual understanding that those funds aren’t gonna be wasted or pilfered by corrupt government officials. I mean, Trump is, the president is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. It’s his duty to root out corruption when he can.

RUSH: You know, you raise what has always been a fascinating point, and you make a good one in the process. And let me translate here on what Stewart is saying. He thinks it’s a waste of time, as far as Trump and his administration is concerned, it’s a waste of time to accept the premise. It’s a waste of time for Trump to tweet that it’s a witch hunt. It’s a waste of time for Trump to say the phone call was perfect. It’s a waste of time to even respond, is what he’s saying, because responding to it even when you try to refute the premise is still accepting the premise.

And I get that. It, however, happens to be a natural thing to do. You wouldn’t believe — I get more emails than you would believe here, and I cherry-pick and I read them. It is amazing just in terms of the sheer numbers, you know, everybody wants to help and everybody thinks they’ve got an idea and they’re trying to give me a suggestion here, a suggestion there. It’s amazing, something like this happens and emails come in with what Trump ought to say. “This is what Trump ought to say.”

And what they’re doing is really saying what they would like to say if they had a microphone or some other mass media utensil to help them say something. But the natural tendency is to accept the premise and refute it. Because what you think is that the American people who hear it are gonna believe it. So in this scenario the media reports that a whistleblower reports in a phone call that Donald Trump asked Ukraine to dig up and make up dirt on the Bidens!

Okay, so you think the American people believe that, so the natural tendency, the knee-jerk reaction, “No. We’ve gotta refute that. We’ve gotta say that’s not what Trump said.” And then Trump releases the transcript! This is one of the greatest examples of the failure of this method that I can give you. The White House did everything humanly possible to refute this bogus accusation. They released the transcript! In so doing they, in the real world, relegated the whistleblower to irrelevancy.

The whistleblower, part of his whistleblowing, was that he didn’t hear the call, that he was told about it by people who did hear it and who were really, really upset, “Oh, my God. It was so bad what Trump did.” And the whistleblower could not stay quiet. So, like I’ve told you, Trump releasing that transcript totally blew up Schiff’s plan! They didn’t think that would ever happen.

So the whistleblower was stage one, then Schiff and the Democrats would demand the transcript and they think Trump would not release it, then they could say, cover-up, the magic Watergate word. Cover-up, cover-up, Trump’s covering up, Trump’s obstructing justice. That’s what they planned.

Trump confounded them. He released the transcript. The transcript made it plain the whistleblower was much ado about nothing. But where are we? The whistleblower is still front and center. The whistleblower is still all over the news. The whistleblower doesn’t know jack, folks, but the whistleblower is all over the news. Trump directly refuted the premise, and it didn’t matter. It didn’t change the way Schiff or the Democrats or the media are attacking him.

So what does that mean? It means it isn’t about the phone call, it isn’t about the truth, it’s not about the substance of the phone call. It is about whatever Schiff and the Democrats working with the media can create in terms of image or illusion to persuade the American people that Trump was dirty, that Trump was un-American, that Trump broke the law on that phone call.

But wait, the transcript’s been released. Schiff should shut up, Schiff should have been slinking away cowering in the corner. He’s been beaten. No. The transcript may not have been released. It may as well not have been. So was directly refuting the premise, did it work? Well, I think it did because I think it confounded them and it’s made them make other mistakes, but the mistakes haven’t revealed themselves yet because the media’s still covering up every slimeball mistake that Schiff is making.

But still, for everybody who thinks “you can’t let ’em get away with that lie,” the Trump card, release the transcript. Now what have the Democrats done? They brought forth somebody else, another whistleblower, in effect. This Vindman guy. And he was doubly upset. Oh, he was so upset that he’s now claiming that the transcript is a fraud and that he tried to correct it and he’s admitting that he tried to correct it because he’s a great patriot.

The Democrats, my point is, are not dropping their premise even though it’s been nuked. Even though it’s been blown to smithereens. So is that the right way to deal with it? I’m just asking. So what else could have been done?
