'God knows why': Long wait for DOJ inspector general report on alleged FISA abuses vexes Trump allies

Conflicting signals surround the classification review for the Justice Department inspector general's report on alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses.

A month after Inspector General Michael Horowitz completed his investigation, there are signs that the declassification process is taking longer than expected at the Justice Department and the FBI, and that has made some Trump allies nervous.

Last weekend, Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo announced that her sources were telling her it would be released Friday. But by Monday, Bartiromo updated her report, tweeting, "IG report NOT out this Friday 10/18. Classifications being made. Likely end of month."

Her colleague at Fox Business, Lou Dobbs, who has long complained of the moving "goal posts" for the release of the FISA report, was irritated by the delay. "We now are told by apparently reliable sources that it’s to be delayed. God knows why," he said on his show Wednesday.

I don't know if this is the same thing, I think it is because I remember the 100 interviews (actually, I thought it was 100 people interviewed, which might not be the same thing), but I read recently of an investigation into 2,000 FISA warrants.  Sounds like a bit of work to me.

Another possible reason for the long classification review of Horowitz's report by the DOJ and the FBI is its length. In his letter to Congress last month announcing the completion of his investigation, Horowitz said his "team has reviewed over one million records and conducted over 100 interviews." He also offered some insight into why his inquiry took longer than expected, noting that several witnesses "only recently agreed to be interviewed."

Exactly right that everybody knows exactly what is going on. Trump has failed over and over to purge the Obama/Hillary holdovers even when he has had chances to get rid of them. This is the result which was blatantly obvious to everyone. Everyone except maybe Trump.

There has to be some cabal controlling the DOJ. They have run hundreds of 'investigations' for years and have prosecuted no one, no one at all, except Republicans and associates of Trump. Even when Democrats were so patently obviously guilty of multiple felonies prima facie just based on the publically known facts of what they did, there was not even a need for an 'investigation'. It is truly ridiculous.

Headlines are used for lies, though.   Especially in this case... ie the ""alleged"" part of the FISA abuses of power.   We don't really need a report to tell us how the Democrats, led by Hillary, lied to the FISA court judges to get warrants to spy on her opposition, based on yet another lie, the Steele dossier.   Unfortunately for Hillary and her loyal supporters.... millions of Americans already know about that.

Knowledge is power.... which is exactly why the left attempts to keep the right dumbed down.   Too late in this case.
