Graham: Trump 'would deserve blame if he allows ISIS to come back'
By Tal Axelrod - 10/16/19 12:25 PM EDT

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said President Trump “would deserve blame” if ISIS returned as a result of Turkey’s offensive in northeastern Syria against Kurdish groups in the area.

“He will have American blood on his hands if he abandons Kurds because ISIS will come back. And if any American is killed anywhere because of a resurgent ISIS, it will fall on [the] Trump administration like it did Obama,” Graham said, referring to President Obama’s exit from Iraq that critics say laid the groundwork for ISIS’ creation.

“I blame the terrorists, I blame [Turkish President] Erdogan for the violence, but I do look to President Trump to fix it,” Graham added.

Trump has been inundated by bipartisan criticism since he announced U.S. troops would withdraw from Northern Syria ahead of Turkey’s operation, a move critics said prevented the Turkish offensive.

I think history will show this as President Trump's biggest blunder.

President Trump essentially told Sen. Graham to focus on his constituency in South Carolina and how he can help them....we're done fighting other countries' wars.

Trump said Graham should focus on his role as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee investigating unfounded allegations of corruption during the 2016 election involving Obama administration officials. The president suggested he look into former President Obama, former CIA Director James Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey and others, alleging without evidence that they acted corruptly in the lead-up to his electoral victory.

"That’s what Lindsey ought to focus on," Trump said. "That's what the people of South Carolina want him to focus on."

"The people of South Carolina don't want us to get into a war with Turkey, a NATO member, over Syria," Trump added. "Let them fight their own wars."

Really, Lindsey?   The real national security disaster.... is the deliberately orchestrated invasion-by-illegals that was funded by the radical left, and sanctioned by the g'damned DemocRats.   No telling how many ISIS fighters made their way into the US among those caravans.   But noooo.....let's all focus on the friggin ones in Syria!    9999hair out0000

Not his only mistake, but certainly one of his largest.

ISIS will "come back" whenever "we" leave (in theory it doesn't have to be all about "us", but in practice it pretty much always is).  It doesn't matter if POTUS is named Trump or Carter or Reagan, they're going to declare "victory" when we pull out.

Because the feud will outlive current and future generations, as it has with dozens before.

Well, maybe @libertybele . OR---

The Kurds voluntarily reintegrate with the Syria Army and as such, have Syria's and by extension, Russia's protection from the Turks. (Done and done)

The US will  "broker" a buffer zone and refugee transfer with Turkey and Syria … so there'll be no reason or opportunity to slaughter Kurds (unless the Kurds choose to ignore the buffer.  If they do this, we'll know for certain the suicide gene is strong in the Kurd bloodline).

Any living remnants of ISIS in Syria won't be by year's end, by any means available--- and our hands will be clean.

Slowly peace returns to a unified Syria and in the Christmas/New Year season of goodwill we hear a "our long national nightmare is over" speech from Assad.

Turkey calls for new elections.  Erdogan drowns in his own flop sweat.

We of course, are happy to contribute to the Syrian Marshall Plan.

I dare anyone to call this outcome I've just described a "mistake" -- large or otherwise.

The surprise is going to be pockets of ISIS rising up in the U.S.  Trump's decision and our open borders have given them the golden opportunity.

He actually said he didn't care.  He said they would be going to Europe and other places.  Then he said a small percentage could come to the U.S.

Since ISIS never "left," I guess Lindsey had better get started on the speech he's going to make when he casts the "Guilty" vote in the Impeachment trial.  It had better be a really good speech.
