Okay, 65% of voting is in, the Democrat, John Bel Edwards, has a good lead...... You know, Edwards is pretty pro-life, that's a great thing. Someone told me though, when it comes down to a lot of other matters, still liberal... anyway, I'm not sure if I saw this covered, I thought it should be mentioned.  No telling what this means, 65% of the vote in with a very good lead for Edwards, I would say he will take this... but it's not over. Someone said one reason his total is so high is because it reflects the Parrish, New Orleans is in....

From what I have seen, the other state-wide offices are doing pretty good for Republicans...Attorney General and Secretary of State for example.

Yes, surely John Bel Edwards (D) is on his way to a blowout win it looks like...now, 84% precincts reporting, Governor Edwards will walk it.

Louisiana's Democratic governor forced into runoff

In a sign of Louisiana’s Republican bent — and of Edwards’s cross-party appeal — voters easily re-elected the top two Republican incumbents on the ballot on Saturday. Both Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser (R) and Attorney General Jeff Landry (R) won re-election outright, with about two-thirds of the vote.

Edwards will face off against Eddie Rispone, a wealthy Baton Rouge businessman making his first run for public office. Rispone held 27.3 percent of the vote, outpacing Rep. Ralph Abraham (R), who finished third with 24.2 percent of the vote.

History argues that Edwards will face a more difficult path to re-election than he did against a divided field. No sitting Louisiana governor has ever won re-election after being forced into a runoff.
