Pelosi touts 'increased outside validation' for impeachment inquiry

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Democrats their effort to impeach President Trump is gaining support.
“This week, we have seen increased outside validation of our efforts to hold the President accountable,†Pelosi wrote to Democrats ahead of lawmakers returning to the Capitol next week.
The California Democrat pointed rank-and-file Democrats to an op-ed published Thursday from 17 former prosecutors who worked on the Watergate investigation that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
"The president’s refusal to cooperate in confirming (or disputing) the facts already on the public record should not delay or frustrate the House’s performance of its constitutional duty," the former prosecutors wrote.
