Migrants block Gateway International Bridge

The Gateway International Bridge between Brownsville and Matamoros remains closed as migrants blocked the Mexican side of the bridge.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, about 300 migrants without entry documents had gathered at the midpoint of the bridge about 1:30 a.m. this morning.

Authorities say those MPP or Migrant Protection Protocol participants with immigration court hearings this morning are being rescheduled for a later date.

On one hand it blocks illegals from crossing into the US. OTOH it blocks commerce between the two cities, hurting US businesses and Mexican businesses.

If prog advocacy groups were interested in these people beyond using them for their own agenda, they would be busy warning potential migrants still in Central America to stop coming.
